  • Amerihyes?

So do you think it will ever come to a point where the diaspora in America will be referred to/refer to themselves as Amerihyes as oppsed to Barskahye, Bolsahye, Hyastansi, etc. ?

Eventually, they won't refer to themselves as Armenian anymore.

Ditto! What matters is that they remain Armenian and go back to Armenia, not what they refer to themselves in the Diaspora.
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

They already do this in the diaspora and I do as well if I'm talking to someone over the internet or something. It's just a name to describe where you're from, that's all. Bolsahye is no better than Libanahye or Amerigahye; they're all Spiurkahayer.

Case in point, 3rd and 4th generation Armenians in America are rightfully referred to as "Amerigahye" and not "Kharpertsi" or "Vanetsi". You can say 'so and so' was a Kharpertsi or a Vanetsi, but you've been here in America for 80 or more years.
