      Beginning of Prayer:
Is prayer just asking God for things like health and help with problems? Why do we use the prayer of the Saints and Prophets? How important is prayer in spiritual life? These are some of the questions that start the journey of prayer toward God.

Hayr Mer (Our Father) - click to listen
This week’s podcast we continue to look deeper into prayer, more specifically the “Our Father” taught to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Why does this prayer start with Our Father instead of Our Mother or Our God if God is not suppose to be gender specific? Secondly, why does we call God Father instead of God since he is God and why does Christ teach us to pray for a group of people rather than an individual prayer? And finally why do we pray “do not lead us into temptation”?

                Envy
We continue the discussion of the 7 Deadly Sins with the sin of Envy. In Armenian this word is called nakhandz. The word nakhandz is composed of two Armenian root words first nahk, which means to put before, and the second andz, which means the self. Join us as we look into the root of Envy, how it’s spiritually destructive and its remedy.

This week, as we continue our discussions on the 7 deadly sins, we take a look at Anger. We look into why is anger a sin, since every one gets angry, even Jesus did, how could this be called a sin. Secondly, when someone does something wrong it is natural to get angry, for example a parent with a child. And finally, How do we know if we are getting angry for the right reasons?

                      Lust
As we conclude our discussions on the 7 Deadly Sins. We exit with the sin of Lust, which in this day and age needs very little explanation. On TV, billboards, magazines, videos the suggestive images are all around. But how do we distinguish what Michelangelo and daVinci created as fine art from modern day images of nudity? Join us as we conclude these discussions that began from the spiritual sins to the physical sins.

                      Gluttony
The word gluttony in Armenian is one that is rarely used to describe the human condition. But what does gluttony mean to the spiritual condition There are people who eat just a bit and gain weight and there are people who can eat anything but not gain a pound, but does just eating define gluttony? And we continue our discussion on the sin of Gluttony, we look into what the Scriptures call the Temple of God , our bodies, and why when to the Church Fathers speak about the sin of Gluttony they immediately speak of the spirituality of fasting.
