  • novels about Armenians and their story

A long while ago, I was given the title of a novel about the events of the ganocide, written by a Canadian author - it had "fountain" and "source" (I think!) in the title. Does anyone know it?

I have been trying to think of novels about the period of the genocide that would or should have made an impact; and also on how to tackle it most effectively. Reading books on the holocaust might be one way to discover how it's done. "The Reader" by Bernhard Schlink, for instance. And wouldn't it be good if a novel were written about Papa Kunzler? Not enough research has been done in that area. We tend to concentrate on the horrors and do not look at the wider picture, the foreign people in the region who became involved, the "righteous Turks" who saved lives, so many different aspects which would give a rounded picture of what happened, to make it live in the minds of those who have little knowledge of the history of the period.
