Great! So what's a good way to learn Armenian? I want to learn how to speak it, but also how to read it. Speaking is much more important to me though. Would you recommend Pimsleur?

It could help with ear training of the Armenian language.

Best way to learn is to learn the language rules and learn the alphabet, then get a decent dictionary, I use the Hippocrene one by Diana Aroutunian, its fairly good and it has a pronunciation guide.

Also check out Armeniapedia, Raffi has a section on learning Armenian telling you precisely how the grammar works

I don't think anything works better then conversing with people who know the languadge in person but obviously this method is not available to all.

It is never a good idea to ignore. Army has not been offencive and has been contributing to this forum in a constructive way. I think belle the cat fits your description of agent provocateur much better. Please do not be a ignorent racist like muckuch, if you disagree with army just say so and state your reasons.

Please disregard, please ignore everything the user "Army" writes in this forum. This turkchi is an agent provocateur. So, I'd like to ask the Admin to ban this clown as soon as possible.

I can read and write Armenian but am a bit rusty because I do not use it frequently.
In Cyprus ( where I grew up) Armenian schools are available as part of the Education system.

My kids were born in England. They learned Armenian at the community school run at weekends.
The fee is nominal. They have finished this.

I think it was good for their self esteem and I feel (they agree!) that they have achieved one of the important milestone in life as Armenians.
