Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Although all you’ve said has nothing to do with what I've wrote. But,

Believe me I learned and know very well their language, I was born in one and was raised in another, I have lived with them for a while, and I even had a citizenship to one of these countries, although it wasn’t my choice. I chose to live with what I consider civilized and advanced people, where you cannot constantly smell sh-it and urine as a cultural aroma.

Consider yourself lucky to have immigrants cleaning up your sh-it and urine just so you don't realize that your sh-it doesn't stink.

Do you ever think before you write, or you just write something for the sake of answering back even though you have nothing to say?
I am an immigrant too, so who’s cleaning after whom?

So my next logical question would be... were you a poor immigrant needing a job (any job) to feed your wife and kids who migrated with you?

            What about when I wrote?:
where stoning women to death in public is legal, or forcing a 12 year old girl to marry a 40 year old man just because he can afford to pay her parents the price, and all this is done legally? Or even yet, circumcising young girls against their wills is legal.
            Your answer:

I'm not trying to win anything... I'm giving reasons for your questions. Rich people (I mean those who have a monopoly in any given country) rarely migrate from their home because they make money off of the population. Poor people or even middle class people migrate because they are looking for work and the country they reside in has faltered due to war or poor economic conditions.

There are about 200 countries in the world... which of those do you consider advanced and civilized? I personally don't know enough about every country to give an informed answer because I haven't lived in all of them. Have you lived in all of them?

Africa gets plenty of financial assistance though, it isn't just about money, you have to know what to do with it. Anyway, I don't understand why they can't take care of simple things like feeding themselves over in Africa. They have a ridiculous abundance of natural resources and it's all just laying there.

Maybe it’s just me who see these things backwards thinking and uncivilized or maybe it’s the media or the university brainwashing crap that teaches lemmings to repeat what was told to them.

*I'm not talking about the war migrations; I'm talking about the ones that are done on their free wills (to better their lives)
People go where the money is... Why isn't Armenia flooded by the Chinese yet? Becaue there is no money to be made there.

Why... on the other hand, why do people from all over the world (including westerners) go to Qatar, UAE and Saudi Arabia, even though people who break their crazy Islamic laws can get beheaded? MONEY. They are just richer versions of the Islamic nations you have citizenship for. But the money doesn't really improve the lives of their average citizens, even though according to our economic theories, it should trickle down to them. I think you can guess why it's not "trickling down", it's universal problem actually.

Another thing... So long as the USA holds the rest of the world by the balls, it will be "advanced". Judge our North American/Western society once its nations are not the seat of global power. Or rather... Think back to a time when Western nations didn't politically or economically dominate the entire world... think of our social norms in those days, when we'd burn witches, own slaves, you name it... (when I say "we", I refer to us as Westerners even though we were actually Armenians in the Ottoman empire, under a different kind of mess.)

And back to a time when we did start to rule the world, think of the industrial revolution that was supposed to be the great leap forward that got us here from our agricultural past. Were we clean? Well fed? What did the common worker own? What kind of safe future did we have to look forward to?

Everyone smelled like urine then, people dumped their excrement on the streets, and scores of people died of diseases every day. People didn't feel like they had a choice to change anything, until rich members of society started being affected by the diseases of the poor, the stench of the ghetto made its way to parliament... The rich began to attend to basic health concerns in their cities, which they had neglected for generations while they made their money working their own race's brethren like dogs.

And then, when they were through with working them like dogs, they enlisted them to fight 2 wars in Europe that cost 16 million lives (civilian and military) the first time, and 60 million the second. They completely destroyed the place, and then spent the rest of their society's resources rebuilding it with all kinds of money that could not come out from their own pockets, but out of thin air through the public debt of guess who... the same class they've been screwing ever since the beginning. And when they're tired of our labour, they go straight to the Chinese and leave us on the streets.

And when we force the rest of the world to have to go through this paradigm of progression, divorcing them from their native civilization, we can look at them too in disgust as we watch them "industrialize", fight their equivalents of what we went through in WWI and WWII, etc...

Re: America and being White and Armenian

I agree with you Yedtarts. Some nations have done very well for themselves and although much of that or most of it I would say has to do with geopolitics (resources from land, bordering the sea, having natural protection, etc.) I think it also has to do with what that people values. Some cultures put more of an emphasis on learning, others more on fighting, some on both and some on neither. In the modern world the Western European and more specifically the anglo-american model has come to dominate other cultures, but what I am referring to is during the middle ages or even further back, since many modern nations were recently formed in comparison to Armenians or Persians for example.

Someone asked what countries are advanced I would generalize and say Western Europe, Japan, Australia, Canada and the U.S. are what is considered to be the pinnacle of 'advancement'. This is why people migrate to these regions and not so much to Latin America or Central Asia for example. People have come to associate these areas/countries with advancement and they want a piece of the action, if not for themselves, at least for their offspring.

As for WWI & WWII, there are a number of reasons why those wars were fought, I assure you that any half way educated businessman (captain of industry) wouldn't f*ck up their nation on purpose. The only ones that stood to gain from the wars were those in the banking industry and the military procurement.

For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

When did Hong Kong become it's own country? I guess it's the only important part of China seeing that it was also a British Crown Colony.

A Crown colony was a type of colonial administration of the British Empire.

Crown colonies were ruled by a governor appointed by the Crown (and, later, the Colonial Office). Though the term was not used at the time, the first of what would later become known as Crown colonies was the Colony of Virginia in the present-day United States, after the Crown took control from the Virginia Company in 1624.

Until the mid-nineteenth century, the term was primarily used to refer to those colonies which had been acquired through wars, such as Trinidad and British Guiana, but after this point it was more broadly applied to any colony other than the British Raj and the colonies of British settlement such as Australia, Canada and New Zealand (later to become the Dominions).

The term continued to be used up until 1981, when the British Nationality Act 1981 reclassified the few remaining British colonies as "British-Dependent Territories". From 2002 they have been known as British Overseas Territories.

BTW, HSBC Bank stands for The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation controlled by... you guessed it, the United Kingdom.

HSBC is the largest bank in the world and a terrorist attack took place in November 2003: a bomb blast in Istanbul damaged the bank’s head office in Turkey, causing several deaths and hundreds of injuries.
