Re: Armenian Co-Owned Coffee Website
I sent an e-mail to GoCoffeeGo inquiring about the advantages to using their service. I received a response from Elise Papazian.
Her major points:
1) Same prices as the roasters.
2) They've negotiated better shipping charges.
3) They have shipping specials, surprise gifts, and discounts.
4) They have currently 15 different roasters represented so you won't have to worry about maintining 15 different accounts if you want to order from different roasters.
5) They've set up a Netflix-style automatic shipment feature.
6) Their website is fun.

My dad refused to grind even w/ my easy bar grinder because he said he couldn't taste a difference and it wasn't worth the trouble (*slaps her forehead*), so I'm on a mission now w/ the burr and french press. Wish me luck.
Haha. Very cool. It'll definitely make a difference. A good grinder is especially valuable with french press because you can reduce the amount of sediments that appear in your cup. Even grinding is always a good thing. Even for $100 it won't be perfect but you'll be happy. Let me know what you think when you get the coffees! I just bought a bunch of coffee from Whole Foods but when that's done I'll probably order from the site.

My only concern with the business model presented is how they are to keep repeat clientele. Anyone can go to the roasters' websites and buy direct -- though I don't think it would necessarily be cheaper.

Armenian Co-Owned Coffee Website
Someone just sent me this link in an e-mail:
It's an article about a website that focuses on small-time coffee roasters of high quality. And as an added plus, one of the owners is named is Elise Papazian. If you enjoy nice coffees you should consider supporting the site by buying coffee from them now and then (or exclusively).
The website is: http://www.gocoffeego.com/
Roasters I recognize: Klatch, Barefoot, RitualTags: None
