Most Armenians I've personally seen look very Iranian, I can understand your wants to look unique, and I completely respect that and agree with that, perhaps I have witnessed a minority of Armenians, I shan't be the one to generalize, just know however that it's very rude to say that Iranians look like Arabs and if your intention was to be rude or insulting, please calm down as this isn't that type of argument, although I was rather insulted, personally if someone said I looked like an Arab in real life I don't know how I would handle myself, no offense to Arabs of course.

Well there are some Iranians that look like Armenians but they also look like Turks, Azeris, Georgians, and at times like Mediterranean people. However the difference is that there is a good portion of Iranians especially from the South that look more like Arabs, after all they've mixed a lot with Arabs and other similar middle eastern people. So there's not insulting there it's just a fact of Iranian history. Your president looks like he's from a rural village of saudi arabia

You must also understand that Armenia maintains very close ties with EU, and Armenians in Armenia identify themselves with the European/Western culture (in parallel to Armenian of course). Iran is a partner, but it is the EU that we are going towards.

The phenotype of Armenians is typical of Caucasians in that area (Azeris, Georgians) and also similar to the Mediterranean phenotype. Yes some Iranians look like Armenians, but there are Iranians I've seen that are darker than the average Armenian and look more Arab. Also you have the light Armenians that have light hair and blue eyes, they make up a smaller portion of the population, but I know many Armenians with such features. In general Armenians can be confused for a variety of ethinc groups especially Mediterranean people like Greeks and southern Italians. However, I will be honest it's very easy to spot Iranians in Armenia from looks.

Look Azar, I don't hate Iranians. I actually have several good Iranian friends, and Iranian people are nice people and have a rich culture. Secondly, me not beings fond of the Iranian government doesn't mean I have something against the people.

However this doesn't mean Iranian's are our brothers and I've proved this over and over you just ignore it. I know how Armenia is and what Armenians think about other people, and they view Iranians neutrally, as the Muslim people from the south. Armenians feel closer to post-Soviet people like Russians or Georgians more than Iranians. I would argue that many feel closer to European people as European culture and style is everywhere in Armenia.

Lastly, I've shown you genetic proof that Armenians are not "brothers" or even cousins of Iranians. The only genetic "cousin" of Armenians is the Hemshin people who live in Turkey. Northerns Iranians, Armenians, Azeris, Georgians, all may very well share similar genes, but that doesn't mean they are all genetic brothers, that similarity comes as a result of living next to each other for long periods of time.

The world is soon to change and Armenia will be part of its revival, alongside Iran. My Azari, Armenian and Iranian brothers will soon enough set course to the new Golden Age of prosperity in the Near-East.

So forget any racial, religious or cultural barriers between us and accept our eternal brotherhood.

The likes of the Armenians, Assyrians, Greeks and Lebanese, must be free to follow their own star and your people have no mandate to rule over the Near East at all.

Iranians do seem to have a sence of history and are a cultured peoples. Even if you seem to feel the need to hark back to a mythical golden age.

I also hope that you realise that Turkic culture isn't originally from southern Siberia or Mongolia, but rather eastern Central Asia. The same is true of Indo-European/Indo-Iranic, which isn't from Persia/Mesopotamia or even Anatolia either but rather Western Central Asia.

So in a sence mixed Tatar type peoples may rather paradoxically be closer to what Western Eurasian peoples in very ancient times once where.

Iran and it's Syrian minion in shadowing Israel and 'occupying' Lebanon. Have encouraged Israel to act clandestinely and proliferate arms regionally to states such as Azerbaijan.

In my opinion a poltical solution to the Azerbaijan-Armenian conflict is highly desirable. As this flashpoint is a impediment to all sorts of wider regional relations and has ethno-religious connotations.

Germany is only a few years away from posting surpluses and on the proviser that it bailouts, it's idiotic little brothers. It seems likely that the EU's little traveling cirus may well go on.

Europe is also slowly drifting towards Russia's orb in part as is keen to halt it's econmic and geopolitical decline. Turkey is now growing at 10% p/a and in closer alliance with Europe and Russia. It's influence maybe refocused towards the defence of Turkic Asia and used to counter the Asian powers ascendancy.

Every time the West, so much as says boo to Iran. It runs and hides under mother Russia's skirt. However the Russians won't like the idea of a nuclear Iran or falling completely out of favour with the Israelis. What is more a nuclear armed Iran risks starting a regional arms race.

Russia wants equal role in NATO missile shield: minister

Russia is open to talks on NATO's planned European missile shield but wants to play an equal role in its development, Russian Defence Minister Anatoly Anatoly Serdyukov told the German weekly Der Spiegel.

"The most important thing for us is firstly to define what are the real threats to Europe, and secondly is to see Russia put on an equal footing as a participant," Serdyukov said in an interview to be published in full on Monday.

"It is only thus can an anti-missile defence system be put in place which satisfies everyone."

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is to attend next month's NATO summit in Lisbon and said Tuesday that Moscow was prepared to discuss the Alliance's proposed anti-missile shield.

Iran's president asks pope to join efforts against intolerance

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told Pope Benedict XVI that he would like to work more closely with the Vatican in an effort to stop religious intolerance and the breakup of families.

The president also appealed to world religions to cooperate in the fight against secularism and materialism, Iranian news agencies reported.

The appeals came in a letter that was handed to the pope by Iranian Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs Sayyed Mohammad-Reza Mir-Tajeddini, during a brief meeting Oct. 6 at the Vatican.

Vatican spokesman Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi confirmed to Catholic News Service Oct. 7 that the letter was given to the pope and its contents already published by Iranian media outlets.

According to reports, the letter praised the pope and the Vatican for criticizing a U.S. pastor's threats to burn copies of the Quran on Sept. 11.

The Iranian president lamented people's disregard for religious teachings, which, he said, stemmed from ideologies such as "secularism, Western extremist humanism, and man's growing tendency toward material life."

Such ideologies have been on the rise, he said, and have "paved the way for the decline of human society."

"Therefore, close cooperation and interaction among divine religions to halt such destructive moves is an absolute necessity," his letter said.

Ahmadinejad called on religious believers to lead efforts in "establishing justice, uprooting oppression and overcoming discriminatory practices."

He also told the pope that Iran was willing to cooperate further with the Vatican in efforts to stop sacrilegious acts, the spread of religious intolerance and the destabilization of the family.

These are all valid points. Iranians I have met have been very friendly, welcoming people.

Anyone who wants to be a brother, Iranian, Russian, Kurdish even Turkish or Tatar should be welcomed
