what can 3 milion armenians do against 50 milion kurds?
first time i came to this forum i loved armenia more than any other indeependent country and looked at armenians as brothers,but now i look at you as one of kurds biggest enemies.
there are some nice armenians that i have seen on this forum. (like joseph). but most of you (4 out of 5) are racist xxxxed animals

De jure recognition means nill in the process of creating a nation-state. The most important factor is a government that controls a given piece of territory.

Here are the Sunni-Kurds (Iraq Kurds): They have already started attacking each other - after being "liberated" from Saddam (who was funded by the U.S.). Further proof the US doesn't know what it's doing (and a reminder to Armenians to not let Grey Wolves build on the border to avoid a similar risk): Basically, the Sunni-Kurds have fought: the Syrians, Turks, Armenians, Iranians, Iraqi-Arabs (Who is next?). [Again I have to remind everyone - the Shia-Iranian Kurds speak a different language (dialect) and are very professional people - Doctors, etc.] As you watch these videos - bear in mind that Iran is the only country that can keep the Kurds and Grey Wolves in check (Russia and China are also experiencing Grey Wolf issues -- Russia also has the Georgian/Chechen issues).

Here's one way to consider the significance of Iran to the region: As an Armenian, if you had leave to a neighboring country, would you rather move to Iraq? Azerbaijan? Turkey? Afghanistan? or Georgia? (I left Iran out because it has always been a safe-haven for Armenians irrespective of the type of government there.)

That may be true - but the parts being referred to as "Kurdistan" were always within the heartland of Iran. Show me where Kurdistan was on the map at any point in history? Goat droppings don't demarcate a border.

The border between Iran and the Ottoman empire was only decided upon in 1914. And almost before the ink had dried on the maps......

It may be true that borders have been adjusted - but the parts being referred to as "Kurdistan" were always within the heartland of Iran since antiquity. Show me where Kurdistan was on the map at any point in history? Goat droppings and vivid imaginations don't demarcate a border or prove the existence of a treaty. There are also 3 primary groups of Kurds (everyone always refers to them as "The Kurds" as if that has any meaning). The Shia Kurds living in Iran dislike the Sunni Kurds and are loyal Iranian citizens. A Sunni Kurd (from Turkey) will let you f*** his wife if you say Kurdistan exists from Russia to the Persian Gulf.

Any time you have a group of disparate nomadic people that go from country to country without ever having had any form of established government (regardless of how primitive it might be), there is little to base territorial rights on except as to whatever piece of land they happen to be standing on at any given moment. At present, the Sunni Kurds claim Western Armenia as Kurdistan - good luck with that because they don't acknowledge things like historical maps. The Sunni Kurds are a very rural people lacking serious education - and they spend a lot their time engaged in smuggling controlled substances. The Shia-Kurds, on the other hand, consider themselves Iranians and many are doctors and engineers. Their languages are not even mutually intelligible. The idea that these two groups would somehow merge, or want to merge, is far-fetched.

The U.S. and Israel will use the Sunni Kurds and abandon them. That's the sad reality; and part of the history they already have. (During the Iraq/Iran war - Iran actually protected them from being gassed by U.S. weapons.) The Sunni-Kurds are highly unpredictable - they're the ones the Young Turks manipulated into killing Armenians.

Also if anyone cares to look at a map, they will see that Iran basically has two big Kurdish cities on its Western border - one of which are the Shia-Kurds who are just regular Iranians. Those cities have a heavy chain of mountains demarcating the border (The Zagros Mtns). Disparate Kurdish groups wouldn't be able to make a Kurdistan there even if they had a modern army: What are they going to do: Hike over the mountains each time they want to go to the office? It's just silly, and leads to gullible nomads being manipulated by foreign powers and ultimately handled by the Iranian military.

No need to cry about land claims until it is liberated; lets support those who are ready to fight to liberate it; don’t hamper their efforts.
