Well, the point is that unlike Azaris, the Talysh actually do speak an Indo-Iranian language, and from what I've heard of it, it sounds extremely similar to Persian.

Talysh are a Iranic peoples, so maybe Talysh is a bit similar to Farsi. Aliev is a Kurd is he not? The Azerbaijanis would been far better off staying in Russia's sphere. As the Turks and Kurds will rob them blind.
