Armenia wishes to have good relations with China and that is great.
Armenia also wants good relations with India and that is great also.

Unfortunately India and China are not the greatest of pals.
It means Armenia has to tread a tightrope which requires strategic thinking as well as great diplomatic skill.

    Similar triangle exists for Turkey/Iran-Turkey/Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan manages to make a hash of it every time.

I hope we make things work for us better.
I have always said Armenia would be the best honest mediator between Iran and USA.

Our position here is also good. China knows we will take India's side against Pakistan who send Jihadists to NKR and don't recognize Armenia as a country.

China is also aware of Pan-Turkism/Neo-Ottomanism/Pax-ottomano (same sht diferent flavor).......hell, the Chinese Wall was built mostly to keep the invading Turkic tribes out.

Armenia should have no problem. We are the country that successfully balances relations with Russia-Iran-USA. Besides, we're too insignificant for either side to really damage relations with one by building relations with the other.

Last year when President Sarkisian met with Hu Jintao the Chineese President described Armenia as a trustworthy friend, sincere partner, and have always threated each other as equals and with respect. They also support each other in international arena. Sakisian has said that the relationship has advanced to a higher level.

There are many projects the two countries are working on like the multi-million dollara reconstruction project on two Armenian thermal powerplants (one is operational now), a joint venture making synthatic rubber which Armenia holds the technology (Soviet era chemical factory in yerevan), and an increase in trade that has passed Germany and put China second to Russia. This trade is increasing at a rate of 66% a year (95 million now) which works out to be 9.5% of Armenia's foreign trade. China has been invited by Sarkisian to get involved in the construction of Iran-Armenia railroad and Chinese telecommunication companies have shown interest to invest in Armenia.

According to Sarkisian forging close links to Beijing is one of his foreign policy priorities. China also votes against Azerbaijan on NKR conflict.

Oh yea, their J-10s are for Sale.....Iran is buying a few

    Come on now....me want.

    China-Armenia relations

It is now official - China is theenumber 2 economy on earth. China surpasses Japan this week officialy but in truth it has been the number two economy for a while. So how is this relevant to Armenia? It so happens that Turky and China do not like each other. The turks who are notorious human rights abusers have for some time been accusing China of discriminating against turkish minorities in China. I think these two facts are important to note for Armenia. I hope in this thread we can discuss issues realting to chinese-armenian relations or anything relavent to it.
