Re: Are you okay with Gay Armenians?

I think some years back a group of queers, supported and encouraged by an American Gay and Lesbian organization, decided to hold a Gay Parade in Guatemalla.
Any human being with half a brain would be able to tell them how stupid it would be to attempt to hold a gay parade in one of the most conservative central American countries, but alas, encouraged by their American brothers and sisters, they decided to go ahead.

It didn't take long for the angry crowd to overrun the parade and beat the living sh!t out of the paraders as the cops stood aside and watched the entire event.
If any queers decided to hold a parade in Armenia, a similar outcome would be expected to say the least.

I agree with Kanada. Homosexuality is the proper term and it is not a lifestyle but just one aspect, the sexual, of a human being which is a very complex entity in and of itself. But when people talk about gays or lesbians they talk of a sub culture that sees itself as a minority, and not in the true sense, they only take one aspect (sexuality) and use that as the basis of their being. It is very wrong to separate oneself from the group based on one aspect of a holistic system.

Wouldn't happen in an Armenian household. The wife wouldn't allow you to have one second alone with her

Hmm.... the best way I can explain it to you is this:

Primarily, you'd need to understand the dynamics of my family and how i fit into it.
Secondly, the mindset of each of my parents towards my boyfriend.
Thirdly, how his family feels towards me.
Fourthly, how my boyfriend and i feel about all the above.

Once all of that is known, it'd shed some light on what will most likely occur if we do get married; then later, having children.

it's growing more so tolerant, but it really isn't as often as people think... perfect example: my parents don't accept me because i'm bisexual. they tolerate me because i'm the smartest and bring in the best "compliments" to the family name. i'm also the most skillful. i'm particularly worried what my own family will do, especially since they don't approve of my boyfriend because he's not Mexican.

    Good luck!

I wasn't thinking about his age actually... what bothers me is, first, the use of women as mere surrogate wombs (and men only as sperm donors), second, the "I'm rich and famous, I can do whatever I want", third, this sudden "parental fad". As if a child were a status symbol.

I know. In fact, I'm afraid it might even obtain the opposite result, if it's "taught" without a deep personal commitment.

I take no offense at your question

Well, for starters, I'd let my son know and her know that I am not available for three reasons: #1) I'm probably married at this point, #2) i wouldn't want someone like that dating my son (i don't care how attractive she is), and #3) even if I thought she was attractive, she is a: not interesting to me and b: too young anyway.

there is no way to teach tolerance. that's up to the individual
