Re: Yerevan Erebuni
Actually I do not like this song....
1.as you see the music is a plagiat.
2.It is a product of the Soviet Propaganda and was sung on all communist festiveties.
3. Actualy yerevan has nothing to do with Erebuni. The litl town of Erivan was 15 km from the place were Erebuni ruins were found.
4. Yerevan is a soviet city which was a litl town (almost a vilage) befor 30s. We had so many beutyfull cities in our history bat Erivan never was on of them.Befor soviets come we had more Armenian newspapers and schools in Tiflis and even in Baku than in Erivan. Let alone Western Armenia befor 1915....
We do not need to falcify our history, we are not turks. Our history is the Greatest and we have so much to be prowd of.... Erivan was not the case...Last edited by Mukuch; 03-11-2011, 02:07 PM.

Edo jan...
There was no such country as Urartu; it is third party name (most probably from Greek sources) used by some soviet historian called Piatrovskiy. Our countrys name was Ayrarat not Urartu. Erebuni was part of it. In relation of Erivan; it was a fortres allright. It was owned by Bagratunies by Seljuks by Persians... it never was any thing of any great significanc in Armenian history... And yes Erebuni is in borders of now days Yerevan but it is about 10-15 km from the historical centre wher Erivan actualy was.

Re: Yerevan Erebuni
Oh wow, how exciting! The cherry blossom trees are beautiful =)
My favorite interpretation of this piece was by an Armenian gentlemen who's name escapes me. They used to play it on the Armenian channel (Possibly Horizon) quite often when I was a child. It was some kind of quick video they played with Armenian landscapes in the background. I've been searching for it for years. Anyone know what I'm speaking of that can enlighten me? The dialect which he sang it in was Arevmutahyeren.
