go ask people what the words mean, and understand what he was trying to say in Armenian. Stop the lame excuses.

    • Uhhh Hello!!! A large component of learning a language is hearing it. Obvious if we think about the deaf. You need exposure to learn a language. I studied spanish for SIX years and I still struggle a lot with it.
Armenian is much more difficult. It's a different alphabet, there are different sounds, the conjugation is different... It's much more different than english or the romance languages.

Inna is no less armenian than anyone here. That's total bullxxxx.
You wanna talk about being unarmenian? You're being unarmenian/unchristian-like by making Inna feel alienated.
Learning a language is extremely difficult. It takes a long time and a lot of effort.
Realistically people have a lot going on in their lives. It's hard to find time to dedicate to that. Yes, that's an excuse, but what if it's the truth? If Inna wants to learn armenian and just isn't able to for whatever reason, let it be, until there's time, desire, opportunity, etc.

      • Deaf people can't speak because they haven't been exposed to the sounds, not the language. Deaf people can write. People who aren't deaf from birth can talk.

So bla bla bla. See what I mean - people learning Spanish before learning Armenian. Like my cousin. Nice. Very nice.

        • you're so set in your thoughts that you're overlooking the obvious.
HOW MANY PUBLIC HIGHSCHOOLS DO YOU KNOW OF THAT TEACH ARMENIAN?

          • Language learning isn't necessarily done in highschools.

Just get yourself a coupla kindergarten and elementary books, and you're set. It's as easy as that.

Search online for more - a basic search yields results such as these:

Yes. I speak 3 other languages. Learned English when I was a child. I am only half Armenian.

More difficult maybe, but not impossible. Where there's a will, there's a way.

                • Thank you Siggie, for understanding where I am coming from

                  Dan:
I didn't learn Spanish b/c I had a sudden urge to learn a lanugage I never intend to use..in case you didnt know a lot of the top universities in NC, and I'm sure throughout the US require you to take at least two years of a foreign language...and since my school only offered Spanish and French, I choose Spanish since I had some friends who spoke the language fluently and could help me out. The only reason I contiuned Spanish for a third year was b/c I was in the IB program at my school which required me to do so....so now you see why I would pick Spanish.

                  • That still doesn't justify the fact that you've got no interest whatsoever in learning the language.
