i am so glad that my parents insisted on my learning it when i was a little armeniankid, so now i can speak it and even, as anonymouse said i read and write in my own sloppy way. the problem is that it belongs to indo-european groop of languages but is a totally separate brunch by itself. and having one of the oldest and most complicated alphabet out there does not help in learning it. but good luck anyway!
I agree with the above. I think it is vital that parents teach their children their languages at a young age. Childrens minds are like spounges, they can absorb so much. Teaching them at a younger age will allow them time to grasp and adapt to the language on their own.
my parents try to forget where there from. they never speak armenian around me. only in arguments they scream at eachother in armenian. my borhter dosnt live in the US so he cant teach me and my sister is jusyt plain mean. it would have made it alot easier on me if they taught me while i was young.
