If and when I get married I would prefer to be married to an Armenian. Because for me it is important to be with someone who shares the same traditions and family values. Not to say that a non Armenian could not do this, but it'll never be the same. It's not just about speaking the same language, but I don't think a non Armenian partner can share the same passion for our history.

I have dated a non Armenian guy before, and it never felt right. It's too hard to put it in words. But I guess it's different with everyone.

I know what you mean. Some of the magic is not there.

Also there's the assumption, sometimes hidden, sometimes directly ensinuated that an Armenian girl/guy will be a better match in terms of family ethics and priorities. I do believe that our parents' generation of Armenians was generally raised and was further shaped by the Armenian community to appreaciate more the healthy family structure and the value of sacrifice in marriage (although more for females than males). However, if the more traditional family ethics are important to you, in this day and age, any old Armo might be less preferable than a well-raised non-Armo. I hope I'm making sense. I've seen and heard about some Armos that made me cringe and I've also seen well-raised and respectable non-Armo girls that would be an honor to be married to.

I agree with your post, and yes, you make sense

Well when I say that I prefer an Armenian over a non-Armenian it doesn't mean that all Armenians are great. In fact my last Armenian bf was far from perfect. I have never ever in my life been disrespected like that. Compared to him, my non- Armenian ex, was thousand times better that him in more ways than one.

This is a personal choice. There are allot of Armenians here whom I know, that don't have that strong traditional bond and it won't make a difference to them if they marry a non-Armenian.

by the way, how come you are still awake? isn't it late over there?

Criss jan, uzes gam kez neghacnoghin lacacnem endz ko dimac@? Say the word. But seriously, it is sad to see some in our generation growing up as utter wastes of air. If it's not the rabiz influence then it's the assimilation to some degree and loosening of "Armenian" values. But even the Rabiz guys I knew in Armenia would clearly grow up to be responsible and hardworking husbands and parents.

          ahaha, you noticed.
I stayed up last night working and took a "nap" yesterday around 6pm. Woke up around 1am and completely awake. It's ok. I'll be going to a nice breakfast place in a couple of hours.

Ok, you're right. No more going off topic.

You know I was just thinking that in fact it's a good thing to have a boring job. The more boring the better. Than way, the person won't choose the job over his/her family.

my job isn't that boring, it's only when we have to audit which is every 6 months. The rest of the job is ok, we get to travel interstate which is always fun. Plus when it's boring I can work on my business hehehe

Let's change this new topic a bit so it will match the thread's topic.

When you're driving on interstate highways, do your engage in car-flirting with only Armenian mororists or not? hehe
