As far as I am concerned, Persians, as well as a series of other ancient nations, are natives of the Armenian Highlands. Hittites being proto-Armenian has nothing to do with whether or not Persians originated in the Armenian Highlands. Also remember that Armenians are made up of various ancient peoples such as the Phyrigians, Hittites, Hurrians, Urartians, ect. As a matter of fact, Sumerians were most probably proto-Armenians as well. That is, they originated with Anatolia or the Caucasus.

How did you guess???

Actually, human civilization 'did' originated within our homeland.

Essentially, we Armenians are the aboriginal remnants of the first representatives of human civilization. One can argue that other regional nations are as well. However, Islam and the Turkic invasions destroyed, assimilated, absorbed, etc, all of the other ancient Anatolian and Caucasian nations. Today, we Armenians are the only 'intact' aboriginal Anatolian/Caucasian nation left.

Incidentally, civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt and China came much later than the civilizations of Anatolia and the Caucasus.
