Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Armenian White Nationalism

May I ask, why are there recently more Armenians in white nationalist organizations, or want to be part of such ideology?

Is it because after 9/11 and want to "fit in"? Or is it because they moved on from the Armenian Cause and onto a racist Odar's cause?

I don't understand what goes on in some Armenians' heads.

Even if you Google the keywords "white nationalist" or nationalism you get pictures of the Armenian military

The very use of that word makes you a racist.

Hmmm, I don't see how the word odar makes me a racist. It means foreign. As in non-Armenian.

The word racism, according to Dictionary.com, means, "The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others."

I never said Armenians are superior to foreign people.

Nothing wrong with thinking your people are the best. It's when people have a deep-sitted inferiority complex that they act in barbaric ways towards those that are weaker to alleviate this complex.

I agree with the above. However, a healthy dose of introspection is a necessity if the Armenian is to continue on the right track. Without introspection and self improvement, we would be no better than turks whose attaturk induced blind nationalism keeps them in the dregs of humanity.

No of course I didn't mean to suggest we're perfect. That's the point, noone is. We must indeed be fierce in our critique of our shortcomings. Still, any Armenian has truelly many many reasons for thinking the absolute highest of his nation.

By the way, I believe the Armenians who subscribe to White Nationalist ideology are misguided in their notion of patriotism and in their response to continuous attacks that Armenia bore at the hands of foreign oppresors. Their foolishness is shown in some of their crazy conspiracy theories. In fact the majority are kids.

I believe though that their heart is in the right place. Well, they love their nation and their people. That, for me anyways, is enough to accept them. I believe today at least, we cannot afford not to.

                  Well said.
Also, I think the original poster need to put this nonsense into perspective. In short, white nationalism among Armenian is so small that it is essencially non-existant. Armenians are more likely to be victims of white nationalist culture as opposed to being part of it.
For example, consider this exerp from this link: http://www.originaldissent.com/forum...p/t-14113.html

Rafael Arkelov, a 47-old Armenian singer who has spent all his life living in Moscow and for whom Russian is his first language, has experienced it all.

He was in a grocery store buying a chocolate bar and a bottle of champagne to visit his friends for a New Year's celebration when a man asked him for some change. After Arkelov refused to give him money, he saw the man approach two youths with shaved heads whom he identified as skinheads standing nearby and whispered something. Several minutes later, after Arkelov walked out of the store, he was jumped from behind.

"They punched me on my eyes, my face, and all of a sudden I couldn't see anymore. Then I collapsed to the ground and they started beating me with their feet," Arkelov recalled. "If it weren't for a woman across the street who screamed 'What are you doing?', if it weren't for this scream of hers, I think they would have beaten me to death."

Yep. Bald head and utter ignorance go hand in hand. I've lived in Moscow a year, I can tell you some stories. The funny thing though is that Russians are a little fearful of people from Caucasus. They think we're crazy and will stab them in a blink of an eye. This fear has saved me many times from a sure asskicking in Moscow.
