Is the name Onnik necesarily Armenian? Is it a name that is used by Turks or other nationalities as well?

I don't think it's a Turkish name, though it doesn't mean Turks might not use it. Turks are the alien culture (if such a contextual oxymoron can be used here) who have and do borrow or steal elements of the original cultures in the area.Originally posted by JonathanIs the name Onnik necesarily Armenian? Thanks, guys. I mentioned on another thread that I was researching Armenian oud makers (www.varjouds.com). There was a guy in Turkey named Sari Onnik, which, of course, I assumed was Armenian, but had to make sure. I appreciate the help!
