Is the name Onnik necesarily Armenian? Is it a name that is used by Turks or other nationalities as well?

I don't think it's a Turkish name, though it doesn't mean Turks might not use it. Turks are the alien culture (if such a contextual oxymoron can be used here) who have and do borrow or steal elements of the original cultures in the area.

Onnic is not a Turkish name. I have a friend called Onno, but not Onnic.

Thanks, guys. I mentioned on another thread that I was researching Armenian oud makers (www.varjouds.com). There was a guy in Turkey named Sari Onnik, which, of course, I assumed was Armenian, but had to make sure. I appreciate the help!
