Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Bring in many of non-Armenians to learn?

Just an idea. I posed a question to Anonymouse about how he would feel about me bringing many non-Armenians to join here. He replied to me in a very respectful way. I knew I could ask him because I know he does care. He isn't quite sure. (Correct me if I misunderstand, Anon.)

I asked him if he thought it is good if I get MANY (maybe like millions) of people to join this site. Would be okay. Anonymouse likes the close community. I completely understand that. I also asked because, in doing so, we would not only get Turkey and US to recognize the Genocide, but also REALLY act to prevent other Genocides--that are going on right now (walk in their shoes... anyone who knows genocide... we have.)

    So... I'm confused.

I thought that could help this site in many ways. Of course the influx would have a big impact on finances for AC. But, I thought also that this would educate SO many people. I have to admit, I’d bring them here to learn how to save humanity, in general, but also (during) would get Turkey and the US to admit Genocide—and maybe come to some peace (who wouldn’t want that, unless they really just like having someone to hate.)

If MY messages don't get through, there is always that tactile (soul) learning, though... Please tell me if you don't understand, and what your questions are.

I'm on the 'fence' on all of that... I want to know how everyone thinks.
I could (like anyone) do this without a vote, but I will respect the wishes of the membership here. So—I’d like you to vote.

Re: Bring in many of non-Armenians to learn?

No. Just let people discover this place on their own. As far as sponsorship, that is entirely a different matter and is exclusive from the other.

It is a misconception that somehow 'educating' or 'raising awareness of the genocide' will prevent other genocides. That is a fallacy and the case of Rwanda and now Darfur serve to illustrate. There is no reason to believe that somehow teaching about genocides helps prevent other ones.

Furthermore, all the numbers of posters would do is increase the chances of trolls and llamas, and I just think it's better left to the natural forces of cyberspace. We don't want to delete or close or move more threads than we have to.

But perhaps the admin would charge a one time registration fee of $2.00 bucks. I'd pay.

EDIT: And for some reason I see this as a mere avenue to increase your popularity and following since you will bring a worshipping flock to these here forums, who god forbid possess the same posting style as you, thereby transforming the forum into one giant borderless chatroom where regard for sub forums and topics fades to oblivion.

Ok. I'll see the vote. And, I'll still talk with you after that. Either way...

No, if I understand you. That is not a misconception. Do you STILL doubt what I can do? Even after all you've 'seen' and experienced, Anonymouse? If you doubt, I can 'prove' some more.

Please stop your posting LSD style as it makes no sense. You have not demonstrated how educating about genocide prevents other genocides. There is no evidence statistical or otherwise that would suggest it does. In fact, all we have is evidence that genocides are still occuring and no one is intervening. What you do or don't is only determined by posterity.

I make sense (if you pay attention). I do not make non-sense. Though, following sense might get you lost--in a painting.

So now you worship science and stats? I love you, Anonymouse. You are so smart (in many ways.) You are young. You've got .000000001% of knowledge in your head--and you really are a genius.

Who said I worship science and stats? And now Anahita attempts to insult! Well, at least this post wasn't riddled with stupid links, highlights and edited.

You totally misunderstood my last message. I KNOW you are a REAL genius. I was not being sarcastic or kidding at all about that.

I don't see what's wrong with other cultures learning about our culture.
