Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Armenians are getting targeted in Russia essentially becasue they are foreigners, not becasue they are Armenian. Nonetheless, these occurances are still very rare, especially when one takes into consideration the large number of Armenians living in Russia and the very bad sociopolitical situation of Russian society today.

      In short:

Our landlocked, poor and tiny Republic does not serve the interests of Washington DC. Armenia actually gets in the way of America's "grand" plans for the region. Armenia today serves the interests of Russia, Iran and, to a lesser extent, the EU. Thus, Armenians need to concentrate on building closer relations with the aforementioned three.

The only nations today that have invested considerable amounts of money in Armenia are Russia, Iran and Greece. Russia spends hundreds of millions of US Dollars per year, last year the disclosed figure was over four hundred million ininvestments. We are talking economic trade, we are talking close military cooperation. I suggest you all to read the new AGBU issue regarding Russia Armenian relations.

Moreover, there are billions of dollars of Russian arms in Armenia. Russians maintain our nuclear powerplant and they give us nuclear fuel. And we still get a good gas deal, although its not as good as before. But hey, that's free market economy for you. Besides, Russian gas passes through Georgia and Azerbaijan. How can Russians ask us Armenians for a lot less without creating a diplomatic fiasco with other nationswho are paying much more?

Finally. Last time Turks tried to invade Armenia - in 1993 - it was the Russians that more-or-less said: you throw a stone across the Arax and World War Three will begin.

Get off this topic you are doing no one any good.
      1. Russia is a poor country, thousands of Russians (educated ones) migrate to Turkey every year for work. How can you expect them as your major protector?
      2. Turkey tried to invade Armenia in 1993???

True, just like there are millons of primitive turkokurds cleaning toilet rooms in Europe.

There are many poor people in Russia today because all of the former Soviet nations just went through a total economic and political collapse. What is your people's excuse?

Also, the Russian Federation is actually wealthier than all of Europe combined. They have some of the best military hardware in the world and they directly control vital aspects of European economy. Just ask your butt-buddies in Georgia.

How can you expect them as your major protector?
Don't worry turkoglu, just ask your Azebaijani friends the same question. Besides which, Armenians protect Armenia, not Russians. The Russian Federation provides logistical and strategic support.

Turkey tried to invade Armenia in 1993???
Yeah, you sure are confused turkoglu.

OYUNCU couldnt believe it,but this was defiant threat to turkey to intimidate.in return for turgut ozal"s hawkish reactions against armenia, and said:we must protect azerbaijan by all means even we can wage war firstly bombarding the armenian strategic military bases and garrisons.because at that time, armenia attempted to overwhelm azerbaijan soils.

Re: Are russians racist to Armenians?

The following is yet another example of how Russians and Russian Armenians impact Armenia positively.

Russia and Armenia Equally Interested in Balance of Forces in South Caucasus

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Russia and Armenia are equally interested in maintenance of balance of forces in the South Caucasus, strengthening of stability and security in the region, President of the Union of Armenians of Russia Ara Abrahamyan said. “Russia is not indifferent about the situation in the region and the role of Armenia. Armenia is certainly not indifferent either.

Moreover the Armenians of Russia can do much for strengthening stability in the South Caucasus,” Abrahamyan said. The UAR leader positively assesses the decision on conveyance of a part of military equipment to the 102nd Russian base in Gyumri. “Armenia made a proposal targeted at prevention of misbalance in the region and it’s good that it is being implemented,” he said.

He also informed, he is unaware of investments made by Russian businessmen of Armenian origin into the defense sector of Armenia. “However the Union of Armenians of Russia is actively working within the Russian military units deployed in Armenia. In part, we provide computers, TV sets, home equipment and arrange various cultural events,” Abrahamyan said, reported Interfax.
