You haven't met God. As you yourself said, you just believe because the Bible says so. That's pretty much the only "reason" you have for believing what you believe. Now going down the path of discussing how rediculous (or not) it is to believe the Bible (a collection of books written by man, translated and modified over generations and generations, and somehow handed to you), and not to question it one bit, is a WHOLE different topic. But at least it's good that you can admit that all your beliefs about God are based on what the Bible says and has nothing to do with you anyone else that has "met" God.
Ah but the questions were different...were they not? Your whole arguement goes to waste...

What is important about faith from my perspective is that even if you don't believe...you should RESPECT it.
To be honest..two years ago I too only accepted "evidence based" faith...but when I first got out of the laboratory and started seeing patients who were terminally ill, I realized that faith, like any other powerful medication helps people deal with unimaginable pain...and if nothing else ...it's worthy of every respect.
And that's what I want to get into..we should RESPECT people's faith.

Note: I have used the word faith (and not religion), because one can have faith in anything...faith in God, faith in Science, faith in family, faith in friends, faith in yourself, etc..
