Go and take a dip in lake Sevan. Go and experience what its like to be a King. Where else can you get a dish of delicious Kebabs for 1 dollar? For the guys, go and see the imported Russian women dance for you while you sit back and sip on beer and eat kebabs. Damn it, just go visit Armenia and spend a few bucks there. That in itself is a patriotic act.

Yerevan To Be Cleaned

Yerevan will be cleaned with the help of a Russian company with which the Armenian side has signed a contract to get refuse-cleaning containers. The head of the Construction, reconstruction and communal economy department of the Yerevan municipality Frunzik Basentsyan informed about it today.

The residents of the Arabkir community will be the first to get the new containers. They will arrive in Armenia till the end of September. At present there are 6000 containers in Yerevan. According to Basentsyan, 450 tons of house refuse is taken out of Yerevan. The process is carries out by 12 organizations with 270 cars.

By the way, the workers of the organizations are paid only for moving the house refuse. As for the technical dumps, the citizens must pay separately for their cleaning.

Mr. Basensyan was surprised to learn that very often refuse cars are driven without a cover violating the sanitary norms. «I have never heard of it. If there are such cases, those responsible must be punished for it».

Absolutely right! Everyone should go. And don't bother with the excuses - "I don't have enough money", "I don't have enough time" (There is never enough of either, so don't sit around waiting for it).

Nope, not asking, but if you are willing to do either of the above, you are not alone. There are a few of us in the Diaspora who are willing to do both... so it's encouraged. Either way, there is a way for EVERYONE to help Armenia, especially in the way Doberman is suggesting - direct economic support.

And 'like a King', you will live ... the hospitality is amazing, the food to die for, the scenery breathtaking... It is so affordable to get around, to shop, to eat, to enjoy yourself.... just go!

Not too sure about the suggestion of beer and Russian women... but the beer by itself is quite impressive. There are a lot of great things to see in the country, you'll get lost in imagination of what you could do with your time there.

No kidding, it is so important to the country, and it is very very honorable - patriotism at its best. And it's the kind of patriotism that gives back over and over again. It is such a fufilling experience. My life has truly been changed because of my adventures there. So what are you waiting for?

Dear friend, I've heard every excuse in the book. But in reality, those excuses are worth zero. They've got the money and time for Hawaii, Las Vegas, and here and there, but when it comes to Armenia, all they do is nag nag nag complaining about this and that, when in reality, just by touring the place, they can make a big difference. my only advice is for those folks to QUIT FLUSHING YOUR DOLLARS DOWN THE CASINO DRAINS AND START INVESTING THEM IN YOUR COUNTRY!! I come across various diaspora Armenians who've never set foot in Armenia, but gladly speak of visiting Europe as if that were the land of their forefathers. Its very pathetic and sad. FORGET hawaii, forget vegas, forget europe--CONCENTRATE ON WHATS YOURS. thats all i have to say for those who give the slightest damn.

Doberman, I am impressed with your passion and patriotism, but at the same time confused as to why someone with the forementioned attributes hasn't posted their comments in the thread Ingathering of the exiles. You have a lot to say about your passion for spending time in Armenia, I am now very curious to see if you are truly dedicated to the future of your nation... I'll hope to see this same patriotism reflected in your post...

Other Ways To Help Armenia

Buy products that were made in Armenia. Go to your local Armenian mart and there are plenty of imported goods from Armenia. The more the demand for Armenian goods, the more the supply, and therefore the more jobs in Armenia. FURTHERMORE, be sure NOT to purchase any goods made in Azerbaijan or Turkey. Even some Armenians stores have them in stock, especially the tommato sauces. Always be sure to check. If you find Turkish/Azeri products in Armenian stores, complain to the owner, most of they are not even aware.

That's a very good point and I do it all the time. When I go to an Armenian store there are always two things I look for. If a product is made in Armenia = definite YES. If it is made in Turkey = a big NO NO.

I even got into a big argument with my grandma a month ago because she purchased a Turkish Jam! After all, they're trying to kill our economy with their blockade, why should I help theirs?

True say Doberman the best way to help Armenia is to go and spend money in Armenia, spend alot of money in Armenia. I bet the dollar and the british pound will go a long long way in Armenia.

I however disagree with what Doberman said about complaining to the owner if s/he sells Turkish/Azeri products because well thats non of your business what is sold in her/his store. I don't know any Armenian products in my area, however there is this Turkish kebab shop near my house and they sell the nicest kebabs I've ever had (Although it is extremely expensive).

No, IT IS MY BUSINESS. If the filty Jews can threaten to boycott every single business in America if they don't sell Kosher products, then Armenians can AND MUST complain about Turkish products, not only in Armenian, but also non-armenian stores. Furthermore, In the Glendale and Burbank area, Armenians constitute the majority, and therefore we can force that store to boycott TUrkish goods, or we will boycott it and theyll go out of business.

As for the Kebab, although those aren't made in Turkey, i still hope you choke on them. Get outa my face u punk.
