Another Turkish Opinion

i have lots of armenian friends in izmir, istanbul and bilecik(the place where i live)and they don t have a claim like a genocide that is done by Turks.

They do. They don't want to talk about it in your Turkish country. Using the term Genocide in public is a crime in Turkey. So it makes sense that they remain silent about it, doesn't it?

My parents visited Turkey some 15+ years ago. They went to an Armenian church and they said there were a bunch of little kids running around in the back yard of the church and couldn't tell if they were Armenian or Turkish. Obviously they were Armenian, but they were all speaking Turkish. They had a conversation with a couple of their parents, and they said they themselves never learned Armenian because it was illegal after the genocide to speak Armenian and their parents were way too scared to speak the langugae or teach it to their children!! Sad, isn't it?

Also, from what we've seem from you in this forum, I'm sure your friends are scared to even remember the 1915 when you're around.

Given the current maturity of your third-world society I doubt if I was an Armenian in Istanbul I would want to use the word "Genocide" either when questioned by ignorant, nationalist, extremist Turks...

Kemal, I'm an Armenian from Istanbul, and I'm telling you IT WAS GENOCIDE! Anladin mi? Istersen Turkce soyliyeyim sana: SOYKIRIM! Bundan daha basit bir sey olamaz.

What do you expect Armenians living in Turkey to say? Look at Hrant Dink, a Turkish Armenian. He didn't even say anything about the G word, and he still got prosecuted and convicted of the crime of insulting the Turkish people. I have lots of Turkish Armenian friends and relatives who want to just get on with their lives and forget about these issues, but when you ask them what they really think it was, they say, of course it was a Genocide, we're not stupid. But they'd rather let bygones be bygones and live their happy lives without getting hastled. Is that so hard to understand.

I was referring to the mentality of Turkish society which is to this day, third-world at best...

Reread what he said, you'll know that. "When questioned by ....." doesn't equal "All Turks are ..... ", right ?!
