Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

    Make me laugh!
The UN resolutions officialy express Armenia is occupying Armenian lands, so what exactly is it that you find funny?

Also if Turkey is occupying Armenian lands can you give me more information on the Armenian state which we invaded or took over. Cause Armenia is formed on the lands of a former Turkish state not vice versa.

Armenia is 5000 years older than the Ottoman empire.

The Ottoman empire was formed in 1299. Evidence of Armenian culture has been in Anatolia since ~4000 B.C. Even when you go as far as the Kingdom of Urartu in ~800 B.C., Armenia is 2000 years older than the Ottoman empire. So no, Armenians were there first.

You wrote that Armenians are occupying Armenian lands (Duh), so I'm going to assume you meant Armenians are occupying Azeri lands. Well according to U.N. resolutions 822, 853, 874, and 884, the U.N. demands withdrawal from the Kelbadjar region. There is no mention of Karabagh anywhere in the U.N. resolutions, and the terms of withdrawal are extremely vague.

That said, there are over a dozen U.N. resolutions demanding the removal of Turkish troops from Cyprus, but there's no possibly way to enforce it. Resolutions are little more than smalll political prayers.

So do you dare to tell us that there was no existence of an Armenian State prior to the Ottoman Empire in 1451?

And it's interesting that like the USSR in which Armenia was integrated - so before was Armenia integrated into the Ottoman Empire quite like balkan countries. Hence like Balkan Countries, and for the sake of the example, like Soviet republics, upon disintegration - nations re-emerge to their pre-empire/union status - Armenia was the last one to re-emerge and it was the Ottoman Turk's biggest fear - this is one of the reasons for Genocide - and this is what prevented the Western 90% of Armenia from becoming independent once again...

Sorry for the rough example but I think it makes a point. By the way, do you think none of the present day Balkan countries existed prior to the Ottoman Empire?

Armenia accuses Azerbaijan of desecrating cemetery

            Arminfo
            16 Dec 05

Yerevan, 16 December: Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan has
sent a letter to UNESCO Director-General Koichiro Matsuura in
connection with the desecration of khachkars (cross-stones) and graves
at an Armenian cemetery in Dzhuga ([presumably Culfa town in the
Azerbaijani exclave of] Naxcivan). The letter was also sent to other
international organizations, the press service of the Armenian Foreign
            Ministry told Arminfo news agency.

"I want to draw your attention to the issue of a great cultural and
political significance. At the moment, Azerbaijani soldiers are
destroying the historical monuments of the medieval Armenian cemetery
            - grave stones and khachkars - with the use of hammers and hardware.

"This area, which is situated between Armenia and Iran, has been
populated by Armenians for centuries. There were more than 10,000
handmade grave stones and khachkars at this cemetery. The Azerbaijani
authorities began to destroy it in the 20th century, continued this
with great enthusiasm in 2002, and during the last three days they
have resumed this work in an attempt to wipe out traces of Armenians
            on those lands.

"These acts of vandalism and violence, demonstration of intolerance
and brutality are being committed at a time when the international
community calls for the safe preservation of cultural heritage of the
            mankind.

"Director General, I write this letter with a great feeling of anger
and regret. Doing so, nevertheless, I hope that anger and condemnation
of the international community will force Azerbaijan to stop
committing these acts of destroying human memory which are similar to
            the ethnic cleansing.

"I call on you to use your high position to stop the destruction of
            the world's cultural heritage."
"All truth passes through three stages:
            First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident."

              Hello,

My name is Joseph and I'm new to this forum.

Part of me feels that Armenians in Artsakh should retalitate by destroy the Shushi mosque but then again, why stoop to their level? Let's remain aloof from that immaturity.

Don't the Azeris realize that when they commit these horrendous acts, they make any reconciliation that much harder?

What Armenian in his/her right mind would trust these people to govern them when they have committed and are continuing to commit such acts of vandalism? The Azeris showed the Armenians in 1988 what the future would be like under their rule and the Armenians did the only responsible thing by fighting for their freedom and making sure there would be no more surrender. We have lost too much as a people. Any surrender would be certain death.

Amen Joseph. Why is it so hard for our Turkish forum members to understand this? They think it's ok when they "protect" Turks in Cyprus, but what's good for the goose is apparently not good for the gander!

I agree with you that we should not destroy historical monuments and structures that we control in Karabagh and Armenia. It is barbaric and stupid. If there ever was any value in that xxxxty land called Naxciven or whatever the heck it's called, it was in the ancient monuments that our people had built there. The Azeri leadership is so stupid, it is cutting its own nose to spite its face. We should not act as stupidly as they do.

Thanks Phantom. I see that Armenia has made this act known to UNESCO and the OSCE. Not sure if it will do much but at least we should make it known to the world that this is how the "Azeris" act out their frustrations and that the Armenians would be insane to live amongst them.

You're right. Nobody is going to do a damn thing, just like nobody did anything (until wacko Bush along) when the Taliban destroyed the giant Budda statues. The only thing we can do is make sure that this act of barbarity is well-documented and publicized.
