Jan is Can that we use in Turkish.
I heard that Armenians also use Jiger, in Turkish ciger, which means liver but it is used to show sincerity, like you are my Jiger, I think it is same as saying you are my heart, but it would be only used for somebody you are in love with, you can use Jiger for your friends.
I think the word is originally Persian.

Dude, Jan/Janik/Jigar are all Iranian. We use them because of our close history with ancient Persia. These Turks have a labguage that is sooooooooooo primitve that they have to borrow 90 % of their vocabulary from Arabs, Persians, Europeans, Armenians, Greeks to make any sense.
