Yes I did not but I have read some quotations from the movie. But I do not conclude anything about the movie. He rules out that the movie incites hatred etc. They say majority of the events in the movie either happened or close to what had happened.

I have watched few of the series, this is the movie after the series finished they made a movie.

I thought you said you hadn't seen it either. So how do you know that it doesn't "incite hatred"? Apparently, it takes very little to incite hatred in Turkey. After all, Pamuk merely said that 1 million Armenians and 30 thousands Kurds were killed in Turkey, and that was enough to start a case against him. I understand that the movie has an American doctor who harvests organs from dead Iraqis and sends them to Israel. If merely saying that 1 million Armenians and 30 thousands Kurds is inciting ethnic hatred in the eyes of the authorities in Turkey, then surely saying that Americans are harvesting organs from Iraqis and using them in Israel incites ethnic hatred. I think that's the point that Gondorian is trying to make.

About the organ harvesting, I dont have much information. But I heard that kind of mafia activity happens in war zones.
There was an ABC coverage on this kind of organ mafia, I have watched it like 4-5 years back. The mafia asks for appropriate organs, in most cases, kidneys, and the appropriate person is executed in Chinese prisons and the organ is transfered to New York.

Lots of ugly things happening in such war hampered regions. For example during the bosnian war, sadistic people from Europe organize human hunting visits, and they snipe innocent civilians from the Croat or Serbian positions.
Again the children who lost their parents in such regions are taken by the mafia etc. These are common things happening in war zones, may be they wanted to put such a scenario in their movie. But again I dont know if this really happened or not in Iraq.

By the way Cuneyt Arkin's "Dunyayi Kurtaran Adam" movie is not a serious one

I know it's not serious, TurQ, but I've seen a few clips of it and it was so bad it was laughably hilarious.

Really, though, how can anyone take this new movie seriously? This is obviously nothing but hackwork and smut and this is just a way for somebody to make money. Hating the US is the cool thing to do these days, so these guys are just trying to cash in. This isn't going to promote terrorism, this isn't a reflection of the Turkish government, and this isn't going to be a big deal. I bet 2 weeks after its release this movie will become a fading memory that no one will care about.

Anyway, it's not as if the Turkish are the only ones to make movies like that. I mean, EVERY SINGLE Tom Clancy book makes all Arabs look like terrorists and savages. Has anyone watched the TV show "24"? That show is all about "Muslim atrocities". So the rest of the world is just as guilty by making "propaganda films" like this. This is also a way to show that we're not hypocrites. If these Turkish producers can have their freedom of speech, so can we.

good or bad, a movie about the American Troops in Iraq, can be a sensitive issue to people in USA.... No matter how objective it might be !

Another thing is the movie shows Americans slaughtering Iraqis indiscriminately, I mean the way the Nazis killed the jews, so of course Americans will be offended by it.

The US Army does not mass slaughter civilians.

I also can't imagine that the jewish doctor sending organs from living people he kills to Israel will be popular with Israel or jews.

Well I watched the film

When I left the cinema I didn't fell like I had watched a good film but I was very disturbed, why I'll tell you later.

First of all as a film the movie sucks compared to similar Hollywood or maybe French action films. But Turks have just started to make films with budgets over a million dolalrs so it wasnt surprising even though 10 mil. was spent for this one. IMHO Billy Zanes acting was quite good inspite of himself and the Turkish acting was pathetic. You all probably know the scenario so I wont repeat it, however the kidney buster Jewish doctor is explicitly Jewish. I dont remember Billy Zane saying "I am a Christian" explicitly but you can understand he is a fundamentalist (if the word can apply ???). The film is anti American for sure. the only good Americans in the film are Tito Ortiz (!!!) who is killed by a fellow American because he feels bad about a truck full of Iraqis being shot and calls them Humans and one black American soldier who plays soccer with Iraqi children for a few seconds. This actually displays a vague distinction maybe intentionlly made between the rogue American soldiers (all seem to be body builders) and the "proper" ones but as I said it is very subtle. Another important feature is that of an Arab or Kurd Sheikh who preaches against being a live bomb and stops the beheading of an American journalist; this gives quite a message. The rest is quite Ramboesque with Polat Alemdar, a Turkish agent and his buddies killing a good deal of American soldiers in uniform which will disturb the average American very much.

What disturbed me was the slaughter of Iraqis at a wedding party starting with a child being shot by an American soldier, torture scenes from the Abu Gharib prison with that female GI having a go at it and the blowing up of a mosque in the village where the sheikh resides. I somehow related to it... Another overall meassage was that the Turks, Kurds, Turkmens and Arabs in the region are all in it together and are brothers; America does not belong there.

The film, as bad is it may be, gives a different perspective on the situation in Iraq. The fact that criticism this time is coming from a place other than Hollywood and the killing of American soldiers (together with the killing of Iraqis of course) will also disturb Americans very much. Its a must watch for everybody.

But at the end of the day nobody should forget that it is just a film to make money and like most films do, it capitalizes on the feelings of the people in the region.

By the way "Dunyayi Kurtaran Adam" should not be taken for granted. I think it was chosen as the worst film ever made and it has quite a cult following

Washington will not recognize the Armenian Holocaust now. Now's not the right time for them, given geopolitical concerns (mainly have to do with Iran and Syria). They will need Turkey now more than ever. And Azerbaijan too. So it will go just the opposite way. Hopefully it won't have serious repercussions on the Artsakh issue.
