Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Critique of Turkey or A.G. Forum?

I would like to tell my opinions about this forum. Understanding that this site is serving for a great job. Here is a place of people who don’t like Turks and a place for talking about their hatred. Therefore, they quit here with a great relax I think. That is, instead of going a doctor, they are trying to cure their sickness here for free.

Giving up to make joke, as it can be easily understood that people (non-Turks) who come here are exactly angry or filled with hatred or do not like Turks for some reason(s). They are here in order to show all negative aspects of Turkey both its past and current. The world, however, is facing with much more important problems today. It does not mean everyone should give up the Armenian Genocide Forum (or Critique of Turkey Forum) and be interested in the biggest problems of the world of today. They should of course continue with their critiques. And besides, knowing that we cannot also expect healty critiques from an internet forum for all times as well.

And yes, I am agree with that today’s states which have imperial past can easily be criticized. When the empires withdrawn from the soils of the other nations, they leaved many displeased people behind. And in the all empires, the other nations were mistreated generally by the majority. But of course there must be special critiques for some events such as genocides. For instance, someone can write many negative things about the past of Great Britain Empire. Or let’s look at American history for a while. It is full of fails, mistakes and lies of Presidents. I read an article written in an American magazine (The Progressive) dated April 10, 2006. The article is about how many lies were told by American Presidents so as to occupy somewhere or start a war. Those lies begin from the occupation of Mexica (maybe earier I don’t remember exactly) to the occupation of Iraq. Try to remember the date that was before Iraq occupation. Many photographs about Iraq, taken by satellites, were shown. Those photographs showed us that there were the centers of hazardous chemical productions for killing people in Iraq. Most people in USA supported the Iraq occupation but the support is very little now. Yet it has been understood now, this was a lie. Or someone can talk about the oppression of Bulgarians on Turks and immigrations of Bulgarian-Turks to Turkey in recent years. Or someone can talk about what did the PKK supporters in Turkey a few weeks ago. Children were used as shields agains the police.

No I am not trying to change the subject or to be an advocate for Turks. The subject has been always being changed. The subject is not always Armenian Genocide here, the subject is Critique of Turkey, as much as I see.

    Is that all?
We're doing our part fighting against the injustce done to ours, what are you doing? To remind you these is The Armenian Genocide forum (Not the international Genocide forum)here we make our case of the Genocide towards the Armenians and minorities by the Turkish and fighting denialists, specially revisionists because its an ongoing dispute we are slowly but surely winning.
You can certainly critique our methods but I hope youre not criticizing our efforts because this issue is very near and dear to our hearts .Imagine hearing a survivors story of any genocide and then Imagine its your mother, father or grandparent telling you not to hate but just so you know what happened to their/your family members you get the picture

And then the children of the suspects telling you Noooo it never happened if it did it was the other way around because their parents did not wanted to pass their sins down to the next generations naturally. So my Albanian since we are mostly peace loving people it is more civilized to pick up the pen insyead of the sword, now you know the pen IS mightier then the sword and we look forward to the day Armenian pen initials the final signiture on a document that is signed by Turkey that will let us and our ancestors sleep in peace.

I am not talking about your issue. You can use your pens and seek for justice, no objection.

You repplied me so let me ask you that. What kind of relations can be found between Armenian Genocide and the plans of Turks about Bulgarians or half-bredness (bastardness) of Turks? Maybe this is not only a way of relaxation of some Armenians, but also for the others like Kurds or Bulgarians etc.

On the contrary, with these subjects, your site has been being bastardized for me.

If this site is not international, why do you let the irrelevant subjects be discussed?

All criminals would love for their wrongdoing to be forgotten or denied. Why no criticism for your turkish cousins the way they want to pretend everything is OK between Armenians and turks and why don't we all just be friends?

Isn't that simple nature of a criminal?

In Eastern cultures, to accept your shame is accepted as more shameful. Have you thought of this point of view of Turkey? I am not presenting it as an excuse, I know there is no excuse for it. But you should look at the issue in all aspects.

Well, keep on critizing Turkey and the Turks. I admit that it is very constructive for Turkey and the Turks to receive some tough criticism uttered by the Armenians and others. Without such opposition, I dont really believe that there could be any chance of compromise.

Finally, I have Armenian friends, and I care about their great tragedy, and that is why, I am here.

Topics are needed to prove Turkey has not only blood on his hands on the Armenian Genocide, but many more people.

No it's the extremists such as 1.5 million and others that are encouraged to stay around and nurture and encourage the TARC concept.

If you are reading a book on the Balkans coming from a standard western source, you are doing yourself no favor. It will just be a continual repetition of the lies you have been fed which have all been disproven.

I find it interesting that so many here "just happen" to have albanian friends. Very strange.

Do you know that most Armenians in 1915 were killed by the attacks of Kurd gangs or Kurdish people. If you don't believe me, you can search the history or ask to an Armenian being in this forum. I think most Armenians in this site know that.
