Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Do you know any official website for the documentary?

Yeah I'm waiting with baited breadth for Turq's critique on the filmakers or (repeated) attacks on Balakian or such - in his typical style - rather then addressing the issues raised in the film.

Do you know when they re gonna air next?

Well to be honest I dont expect much to hear anything new in the documentary, problably same information was provided here, or same issues adressed here(I'll watch and see myself), may be artistically presented I dont know, proably nothing new.

I have not attacked Balakian, some posters here applauded Balakian showing that Prof. Justin Mccarty is funded by Turkish state(or working with), but the very same thing applies to the makers of this documentary
Here is the list of the sponsors.

One thing that I have not understand(may be I'll understand when I'll watch) about the discussion thing, why those Armenian groups so much opposed the airing of the discussion? Did Balakian say, OK I'll discuss but dont show it in public? If he and Akcam didnt see anything wrong to participate in that discussion why do the Armenian communities oppose it? Did they condemn Balakian in person for his participation? Anyways may be it'll be more clear when I watch the debate.

I always thought of Talat loking funny, no sign of a statesmen's standing.
sounds interesting how did they find that clip, may be the germans.

Did you read his conversation with his Tashnak friend right before the arrests in april?

Yup also theres a clip showing Enver kissing Prussian butt, now thats funny!
and a clip of Mustafa Kemal looking very uneasy and lack of confidence when he poses in a group picture that was filmed with his unholy Muttefiks (Allys)
these never before seen clips make it memorable along with ofcoures the grandaddy of them all Mr, Lemkins rare clip describing how he came up with the term genocide for the Jews after he was inspired by witnessing the Armenian Genocide.

1.5 dont jump into the matter fast, slow down, that was a general comment, I dont like propoganda of any sort be it Turkish Armenian or whatever.
I told you that I hve not watched it yet, I'll see what's with it.

About the denial thing, yes I dont depict the events that the way you describe
(like Ottomans or Turks particpiated in it with all of their institutations, CUP and others were having uniform approach towards Armenians etc), as long as you keep your claims for core CUP I wont oppose you, eventhough I wouldnt prefer G word, they the core CUP is responsible, but you tell a different story that I dont accept, and I also dont accept your claims about Turks or Kurds have never been harmed by Fedayins in Van and neighbouring provinces in 1915(even though you accept/claim that in 1917-18 they did some, only the crazed renegade youth), which is a blatant denial itself. Anyways we both know our stand points, you can try to vilify me anyways if you like.
For the F words that you use, I would say in Turkish "kotu soz sahibine aittir",
meaning "ugly word belongs its possessor"

Turq I admire you for liking 20 voices that shows you are very much intersted in the the human side of the story .
I tell you thats where we all begin listening to the humanside from our grandparents which some Turks can claim the same but the difference i which is a giant one if you step outside of the box for a moment and see The Armenians were under the rule of the Turks and the vast scale of the crime should leave no doubt for anyone that graduates and evolves his thoughts from the human scale to the scale of God.

                      Gavur

Once a famous Turkish poet said "Yalan soyleyen cok gordum fakat yalan sayiklayan gormedim", thats why I give so much credit to the personal stories told by the elderly.

I also do know that that "ates dustugu yeri yakar" fire burns where it lands, so normally we are affected so much of our own family histories, such documentaries like 20voices help us to feel the other side's pain in person, thats what i thought.
