Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • What can be done to decrease hate of Armenians towards Turks

    We cannot change the past but the future. What can we do to decrease hate and anger of the Armenians towards Turks?

    So there is no hate of Turks towards Armenians to address? It's another Turkish Taboo (along with Genocide, Kurdish Issue) that Armenians have an inherent hatred for Turks...where did you learn that by the way?

    I for one don't hate Turks, and use every opportunity possible to build bridges with Turks I encounter. So mark one more Armenian off your list of those who hate Turks...

      Ridiculous question and very strange name choice. Did you choose that deliberately?

      More later.....

        of course douglas doesnt mean that all the armenians hate turks but he is right on that issue. It can not be said that everything is normal between armenians and turks. Hovik does not hate but surely many armenians hate turks also some turks hate armenians. Thus I agree with douglas on this issue. Ways to decrease tensions should and must be searched.

          Ok lets say Armenians like Turks but Turkey. You dont like Turkey, confess please.
          If Turkey pays USD 3.000.00 to every Armenian in the world (ofcourse to those who can prove that their grand parents were murdered in 1915), can something change? Anger of the Armenians does it decrease? I dont think so..

            If you really want to know how to change Armenian perspective, here are some ideas for you:

            1. Stop denying what really happened to our ancestors;
            2. Stop teaching your children that Armenians were traitors that "stabbed your ancestors in the back";
            3. Stop destroying the ancient monuments that we built on soil that you now own;
            4. Stop blocking the borders between you and your neighbor;
            5. Stop coming to our websites and telling us that we're lying, and that everyone who says it was a Genocide is a propogandist;
            6. Stop having such closed minds on this issue;
            7. Approach us with some humanity rather than cynicism and conspiracy theories.

              ------------------------------------------------------------------
              1-Needs negotiations
              2-This is possible.
              3- It is not a policy, believe me. We are not well-educated people. Do you know we are also destroying our ottoman monuments much more than those of Armenians. Here, In Turkey, we destroy everything just for money. We are destroying our own culture,our own history, our forests, our lakes, our birds.
              4-You are right, it is useless. Our great politicians believe that if blokage continues Armenia gives up AG claim. It is obviously impossible. Turkey should lift embargo and provide financial aid to Armenia to show its good faith as great state.
              5-This is what we believe..
              6-How? give example
              7-This is possible.

              Meanwhile, there is a state called Armenia. If Armenians like their country so much, why dont they leave US, UK and France and go there to live? It is a very poor country First make Armenia as rich as Germany and then claim west Armenia..
              You didnot mention about reperations?

                Very easy for a Turk to say. Most Armenians (not me) have lived in the diaspora for 3 generations, because our ancestors were kicked out of their homes and sent packing into the desert. Now, you are preaching to us about going back to Armenia? Who do you think is sustaining Armenia right now against a double blockade? Armenia is no poorer than Turkey, even though it has only been independent for 15 years. In 15 years, Armenia will be a much richer country per capita than any of its neighbors. We will make sure of that, in our own way. But thank you for the advice.

                About reparations, I think the items I listed are a good first step. With those accomplished, I think most of the hatred will be gone. Then, of course, Turkey will have to pay those families from whom it has stolen so much.

                  3.000.00 to every Armenian in the world

                  So is that what a human life is worth in turkey?

                  Insulting us sure won't help your case. Now you say Armenians should go back to Armenia, but you turks hold ninety percent of the land that those Armenians came from. Why should an Armenian go to Yerevan for example when their family originally came from and still owns property in Van? Again, a turk being totally ridiculous.

                    Because

                    Because I am talking about what it possible for the time being. Nothing more. I am realistic.
                    Noone can have everything he wants. If it were as easy as you are talking about, almost every country in the world should claim land from another one.
                    Be realistic.

                    How much do you want instead of 3.000.000,-?
                    In Turkey it is much less, frankly.
