Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

I really wonder whether this thread will progress anything.

The young cuckoo, hatched from an egg laid in a sparrow's nest, will allow the parent sparrows to feed it and when big enough it will throw the baby sparrows from the nest. Does the cuckoo feel remorse? No.

No Saco, but that's where I was born, and that's where many of my relatives still live, including my father. And I'm more fluent in Turkish than Armenian. That's why I can't have a conversation with you in Armenian, because I don't speak well enough to carry on a deep conversation.

        Hi there,

I am from Turkey and I used to visit this site under a different nick in 2004-2005 and to make comments or argue with people, mostly with Armenians of course. At that time there were a lot of members so the site would go fast. It was long time since my last visit with this new name too. So I couldn't follow up the arguments, just ran an eye for a while. It seems a bit the same, except that quietness.

I think I’ll be around, at least, for a while.

Hey, no one asked for a deep conversation, let's just keep up our Armenian speaking status. You might be able to learn a few words too and eventually you might speak better Armenian. Anyways, whether you talk Armenian or not, that's not an issue at all, if you can though, let's just try. That's already a big step forward.

That's a nice way to put it. Did you eat fries and a happy meal while you were at it? If you did, I hear they have these double sized burgers nowadays served with Turkey Wings and a large ass coke on the side.

At that time there were a lot of members so the site would go fast.
Well, you know what they say, quality is always better then quantity.

This thread wasn't supposed to be an argument. Anyways, I think it served a better purpose.

I think I’ll be around, at least, for a while.
That's just what we needed Eti, more boys and girls to start ridiculous arguments that took place since time immemorial. I can't wait, I mean I'm just going .

Ferdi, I offer you an olive branch but you continue to be offensive, yet when you are offended you display the typical turkish response of the "poor damsel in distress". Indeed, turks show the little dog syndrome too often, "bark bark yap yap" yet when kicked up the ass, they run and whelp and then next day "yap yap"

              You truly are a turk.

Guys, please, let’s not make this personal but I have also seen some of the behavior Steph described, in Turks and not only Turks.

So, according to your post, the reason for denial of the Genocide is fear of prosecution. Of whom and by whom? Unfortunately the perpetrators of the AG are long in hell, thankfully some put there by avenging angels.

True but yeah, some murderous people will be prosecuted, the ones that turn to terrorism.

Quite recently, Britain apologised for it's involvement in the slave during the 16th to 19th centuries, A SYMBOLIC GESTURE.
Steph, come on, these are two different issues, I don’t really agree with this. YES, this is a proper example of a Symbolic Gesture but the Genocide took place not even a century ago. Turkey will have losses and big losses but I doubt they’ll give back half of the land they own now. That’s impossible. A lot will change though. Only war can bring back lands, we aren’t Turks to spill blood for land and anyways, it’s not right. God forbid that ever happens.

You may read English but I doubt you understand nuances. You ask for symbolic gestures........my point is that recognition by turkey would be just that, no more no less = SYMBOLIC!
Again, I can’t agree with this and the Turk’s know this isn’t true or else why do you think their hiding away so much? Also, there is fear, especially now as Europe won’t forgive them for what they’ve done unless they accept what happened and when that happens, the world will look at Turkey in different ways and force them to face many of their other wrong doings. It’s not only the Genocide. Come on, Steph, you know this better then me.

Some Armenians strive for Recognition, restitution of Armenian provinces, return of Armenian properties and assets and compensation for the horror.
I don't believe that is practicable.
Believe it, bro. A lot will change. What Turkey wants to do is do what Britain did. The British have always been full of xxxx, hiding under the Queens skirt. I know Indian history, I’ve lived there for many, many years, and the British are full of xxxx. They didn’t face anything until a few centuries passed. That’s because then accepting everything would be symbolic like you said. Don’t think Britain just regretted all that happened and symbolically accepted what happened in the past centuries. Turkey wants to drag this issue through time until no more survivors will be left, a new generation will grow up, and everything will go down in the sand. Then they’ll give a symbolic apology too. They clearly don’t know who Armenians are. Turkey is in a trap right now, one wrong action spells loss and great losses too, mentally and physically. People won’t look at Turkey the way they did.

Again, turkey has nothing to fear, you have nothing to fear. We won't demand you go back to your Gobi homeland, you'd cause trouble there too.

Yes, but they still have lot’s to fear, LOT’S and they know that even when they see people saying there isn’t anything to fear. The Turks fear and hate us now more then ever, they couldn’t get rid of us and they never will be able to again. Times have changed, Turkey hasn’t and they never will until this issue is dealt with.

In the end, whether it's symbolic or not, personally accepting the Genocide took place will make a difference and the number of pathetic arguments will go down greatly, we will all feel and talk much better then before (if we truly accept the Genocide happened of course), and we won't offend each other as if we are the ones that decide whether the Genocide happened or not in the end.
