  • All Empires Are Evil

    lets get this straight:

    ALL EMPIRES ARE EVIL

there are no exception, not even for the osmanli ottoman turkish.

you can bring up all kinds of examples of how wonderful the millet cattle (people) were treated and give an example of this or that self-hating ermeni:

oh, look at how nice they were to those little ermeni! they even put one in charge of the navy's camera shop. another one was allowed to copy the sultan's signature for him! the ottoman empire was the nicest, sweetest kindest place for our little ermeni millet.

    YOU MUST BE ON CRACK

life sucked for 99.999999% of armenians in the ottoman empire from beginning to end. there is only one word to say to that pack of lies:

    SIKTIR!!

isn't it so typical of those who defend an evil empire that they make these pathetic lies, excuses, and rationalizations.

no sane person can tell me the crushing weight of an empire that denies all of your simplest human rights is something they would want.

    3rd, 4th, or 5th

below second class "citizenship". its not citizenship - its being a subject. a subject is basically property owned by the empire. a subject is confined, kidnapped, killed or disposed of any way the empire sees fit. so the "citizenship" in the empire has always been part of the lie and myth complex.

    HURRIET, ADALET - SIKTIR AGAIN

the so-called "reforms" were just evil planning at work. another evil day in another evil empire- it couldn't be any other way when we're talking empires

Great points Antranig. Something to add would be that when we talk about Turkey, most of the time Turks start to talk about the Genocide 90% of the time. If we want to see what Turkey was like, let Turks who think Turkey was a magical place in the past sum up everything that happened, not only to Armenians. Hell, let's forget about Armenia. So much moer has happened, let's sum all that up and Turkey will STILL have lot's to work out. It's not just the AG that makes Turks look bad. Hope you got my point.

With agreeing every single word of first message, I wanna add two ponits more:

        - Turks didnot give up their empire dreams even in their worst situation. So, maybe, recent problems in Turkey may cause from this "dream".

        - All nation-states are also evil, without any exception.

What about lets say Finland? Or Danmark? Or Netherlands?
          This are 100% nation-states.

Conceptually, my dear friend, Armenia is a nation-state.

And Armenia has it's own problems just like every other country, no one can even think of denying that. There are many things I wish I could change.

If you want me to give examples even from Denmark, Finland or Netherlands, i can; mostly from modern history.

Conceptually Turkey is a nation-state also.

So that is my point : there are nation states and nation state. You cant generalize. You can’t say Denmark is evil, can you?
