Don’t you think he got some morale right confirmed by some "insignificant" historical reasons for saying that? The idea is hypothetical ofcous, and no one would say that if there would be even tiny possibility of doing that. Why don’t you give a shans to people show what they feel? I am sure our turkish friends will understand that… or wouldn’t they? 
