Forget Not Thy Armenia
Dedicated to survivor Aram Terzian
Lord, remember thy firstborn, Armenia,
First nation to be thy dedicated child.
Remember the achievements,
Accomplishments, and joyful praises
Before the merciless evil hand of
Torment, death, and destruction arrived.
The marauders brought havoc
To thy holy sanctuaries,
Spilled thy child's blood,
Without feeling hindrance or remorse.
Thou understands thy child's sorrow.
Thou heard thy martyred soul's cries.
Thou felt the scar prints of torture.
By thy mercy,
Thy firstborn cuttings flourishes.
Let never fade thy child's memories!
Let never another of thy children feel
The horrible tragedy of genocide.
Please forget not thy loving Armenia.

My intentions and hopes for this poem were to reveal, as a right to history, the tragedy that happened to the first Christian nation, Armenia, and to offer hope and strength to others by knowing that because of Armenia's undying Christian faith, it has survived. Aram Terzian is an example of that courage that Armenia had and still has to live on. Armenia can look forward to a peaceful future where there will be no such injustices. May God bless us for remembering and learning from our painful past events, never to be doomed to repeat them.
