Best of luck on your project chardgha. My advice is to keep it simple - don't be overly ambitious on your first film. ...and leave something to grow into to perhaps eventually do it right...believe me I know. I've been both an amature and professional filmaker and I sometimes cringe when viewing some of my early films - I certainly look at them and think of the very many ways I could do better now. So do a short (without lots of actors or extras) - perhaps only a slice or aspect of your family's experience - such as their arrival to America and their experiences meeting up with other Armenians and getting settled - and discovering their (our) common stories/experiences....or you could perhaps focus on the events in Anatolia and what your family went through. I have to say though this may not be an easy task. I've been contemplating making a documentary along these lines for some time now (a true end to end documentary on the Genocide) - sort of in the Ken Burns vein (more then a dramatization per se - but perhaps with elements of both). Its a daunting task let me tell you. At this time - if I ever do it at all - I'm shooting for the 100th Aniversary of the Genocide...in the meantime I hope some visionary and capable Armenain filmaker can manage something...perhaps I could be a consultant like Ani (Arsinee Khanjian's role in Ararat....)

well done man good luck with it all

yeah dont mention the Jews it wont get anywhere in the US

      tell us how it goes

you can have the past as its happening and the future of the Turkish government trying to get rid of the past maybe even have some writing at the end of the film like what is happening to the day

thats why i liked Ararat so much they told us whats going on to this day

have a look at the other films like Mayrig thats my favourite one even give Atom Egoyan a buzz
