The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

AN ANSWER TO THE ARMENIAN ALLEGATION OF GENOCIDE

During the 1st World War while the Ottoman Army was fighting against the Russians in the Eastern Anatolia, it was loosing blood due to the attacks of Armenian guerillas inside, behind the fronts. The Russian Tsar, who desired to conquer the Eastern Anatolia to gain a corridor towards Mediterranean, had provided all kinds of support Armenian rebellions. The Armenian guerillas attacked the Turkish and Kurdish Muslims, killed them and forced them to leave their homelands. During these attacks about 600 thousand Muslims died while escaping from Armenian rebellions.

All warnings of the Ottoman Administration to Armenians to quit the rebellion were fruitless and at April 24, 1915 Ottoman Administrators started to close Armenian Associations and arrested their leaders. Even these measures could not able to settle down the rebellions, the Empire set a new law to move the Eastern Armenians to Iraq, Syria and Lebanon which were within the territories of the Ottoman Empire.

Armenian Government and Diaspora claim that 1.5 million of Armenians were under Genocide. Whereas according to the census at the beginning of 1914, the total Armenian population in the Ottoman Empire was 1.260.000 all over the country including the Western Anatolia and Istanbul.

During the migration, it is the fact that thousands of Armenians had lost their lives because of difficulties of transportation, starvation and illness; just as the Muslims who had to leave their homes to escape from the Armenian massacre. But there was no Genocide. The Turkish Republic has opened the Ottoman Archives for the researches to present the realities in the global arena. We expect Armenia, England, France, Russia and USA to open their own archives to the world too.

The 82 years old young Turkish Republic was founded on the grounds of these treaties below:

December 2/3,1920 Gümrü Treaty with Armenia,

March 16, 1921 Moscow Treaty with Soviet Union,

October 13, 1921 Kars Treaty with Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan.

October 20, 1921 Ankara Treaty with France,

July 24, 1923 Lausanne Treaty with all the interested countries ( including England, France, Italy, Japan, Greece and Bulgaria)

There were no Genocide allegations in these Treaties. From the perspective of Turkish Republic, these allegations are evaluated as a shameful claim in order to agitate prestige of her and to pluck political concessions from Turkey.

The Statements existing in the Constitution of Armenia, Turkey’s eastern neighbor, threatening the territorial integrity Turkish Republic; fostering Turkish Enmity in schools, ,in churches and in diplomacy through provocations; the fact that the neighbor Azerbaijani lands are under Armenian occupation since the last 12 years; the fact that more than one million Azeri citizens struggle to live in status of refugee who had to escape from the Armenian occupation have a negative impact on Regional and Global peace and stability. These international problems have to be resolved instead of relying on Armenian slanders.

Reported to the USA Congress and the EU Parliament with Respect.

Well Turkey before the 1915 has a history of massacaring Armenians. And not to mention they did a horrible job "deporting" us. And not to mention all the stories of them raping women and such. So; No thanx. You guys did something you shouldn't have done: GENOCIDE.

Yes it is. Denial is atype of sickness you know - resulting in compulsive lying and the inability to properly understand things or reason - the two of you Turks above are shining examples.

Question. We have Armenian citizens in Turkey. They live in Istanbul as first class people. They are rich then Armenians. Some of them are good businessman and really rich. Think. How they still can live in Turkey? Why we don't kill them.
Your diaspora use this subject on you. THEY LIVE IN U.S., THEY LIVE IN PARIS, THEY LIVE IN LONDON. THEY ARE RICH. THEY ABUSE YOU. WAKE UP. THIS SUBJECT IS A ONLY THING THAT THEY SPEAK IN NIGHT CLUBS. WE NEED YOU. YOU NEED US.
BECAUSE OF YOU ARE NEIGHBOURS. ASK YOUR COUSINS THAT THEY LIVE IN ISTANBUL. THEY ARE IN BUSINESS LIFE, THEY GO THEIR CHURC AND THEIR COLLEGES. THEY ARE OUR FRIENDS, WE DRINK TOGETHER.

Oh, so now we must thank you for not going after these "few" Armenians and killing them. That's amazing. You brain is truelly more of a liability than an asset, cause the only thing you can come up with is kindergarten level logic and reason. Personally I think that the reason why you tolerate them is that some of these "so-called" Armenians are more Turkish now than Armenian. And before I forget, THANK YOU SO MUCH for going out to drink with these Armenians. Why, you're obviously wonderful people. In fact I'm gonna forget that your ancestors directly caused the death of a million and half of my people and you with your typical turkish cold-hearted barbaric mindset are making excuses for these crimes. You're making excuses for turkish soldiers doing things that only a sick and demented animal would do, such as cutting the fetuses out of pregnant mothers and destroying these unborn babies onsite. Such episods happened countless of times btw. But you're right the mothers and their fetuses betrayed their lovely countrymen. I'm glad you're here oneworld, you give us more examples for the reasons we hate Turkey and so many Turks. You give us more reasons for becoming stronger so that scum like you can't try their hand at another Genocide. And finally you might be the explanation to some of your confused countrymen, like karakitap why we hate your kind so much.

My Great Grandfather and Mother lived in Istanbul into the 1960s (when she died he came here - but could take nothing with him and he was a very rich man - I have a picture of him holding me as a baby but did not know him) - he told our family of the hardships he faced even as a wealthy person - and the fear of knowing that all could be taken (and eventually was) - he lived and somehow persevered through the 30s 40s and 50s when the Turks made various attempts to force him and other Armenians to leave. I visited Istanbul in 1992 and spoke with some Armenians there - and they do live in fear. While most things are Ok - they know that there are Turks out there who still hate them and would do them harm. They also are uncertain when some Government policy might arbitrarily change and who knows what will be their fate. And as for the Genocide - give me a break - they fully understand what would happen to them - in Turkey with no protection - if they suddenly spoke their minds...what incentive do they have to risk their necks? So meanwhile they are good "Turks" like everyone else over there...

I agree with your points concerning the Turks of today somehow blaming innocent Armenian women and children and condemning them to death. One point of correction however - most of the atrocities such as you describe bove were not commited by Turkish soldiers - who for the most part - were not involved in such things and who served honorably and through great hardships. These acts tended to be commited by the Chettes (irregular government sponsored gangs) of the Special Organization. And its no wonder as these gangs were composed of violent criminals released specifically to do such things to the Armenians as well as wild Kurdish irregulars and other "mountain Turks", various refugees with an axe to grind against any Christians and volunteers who wanted to shed some Chriatian blood and pillage them. These were the ones responsible for such acts - on orders from the Ministry of the Interior Talat.

I fail to see how Turkish soldiers, who killed Armenian martyrs (in Musa Dagh, Stepanakert, etc) and who gave the green light and stood silently as said atrocities were commited, are honorable. And I do remember reading an account with a Turkish gendarme doing exactly what I mentioned. These soldiers at the VERY least were the herders that forced our people through the marches, watching the old and the young succumb to hunger, sickness and unspeakable cruelty. In the time of widespread dehumanization that Armenians were subjected to, no one was a friend to us. No one did anything in the same zipcode as honorable, except maybe few families.

OK - yes what you say is true...however the average Turkish soldier is basically just obeying orders to attack and such without question of who they are fighting. There are instances of soldiers attacking civilians - but for the most part this was left to the Special organization as well as roused up Turkish civilians. Gendarmes are not sodiers per se - though in times of war - such as in WWI many were brought along as auxilliary to the normal Army. Gendarms absolutly participated in atrocities as part of their "duties" rounding up and escorting caravans of Armenian women and children. These actions were done under the direction of the Interior Ministry and not the War Ministry. Where soldiers did kill unarmed Armenians certainly was in the massacring of male Armenians who were in labor battalions.By and large however I think most Turkish soldiers were just fighting for their country and were not directly involved in the Genocide itself which was largely carried out through other means.
