Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Funny and stupid? All words and no constructive ideas nor actions...This is why you ladies' and gentlemen's approach will never work.
You folks should concentrate on improving living standards and democratic institutions in your own backyard, Armenia, then most probably relations with Turkey will improve....TO THE DISMAY OF ANARCHISTS AND EXTREMISTS ON BOTH TURKEY AND ARMENIA...The extremists of Turkey and Armenia really must be enjoying our inability to discuss things rationally, that is how they earn their living.

You have shown yourself to be an idiot - so why should we bother.

You should bother, because compared to Turks and Turkey, you Armenians are always on the losing side, which makes you losers.
Would you rather not learn how to be in a WIN-WIN situation?

Look around you brother - is your nation really such a paradise? Do your fellow Turks inspire you by their sucess - their brilliance, creativity and achievement? I can look around and see Armenians accross the globe - here in the US and elswhere that inspire and impress me. Armenians have an amzing record of scientific, artistic and comercial achiement - continuing and historically. We are rich and powerful brother. We are respected and welcomed. What of you Turks eh? So see who laughs last eh....

Armenians Losers I don't think so, That word does not apply to the Armenian poeple,We always triumph on Evil, and the proof, even with Genocide perpetrad on Armenians we survived and builded an new nation (even if its only a small part of the Historic Armenia) from the ashes of the nation you burned. And that my friend is called Winning.

                Losers Destroy, winners build....

Please let me elaborate more on how Armenians are always winners, by telling you a brief story from the history....

In the 5th century AD (when you didn't even exist in the Atlas of History, just an info you guys came into the picture in the 12th century AD,and this is applicable if you concider Seljuks your ancestors) when Armenia was an Independent Christian Kingdom, our neighbors in the south the Persians that were at the time pagans, tried to conquer and impose their faith on Armenia, hence there was a battle between the two kingdoms and the battle took place on June 2, 451 AD on the field of Avarayr.

NOw the battle was won by the Persians, they even succeded in killing Prince Vartan Mamigonian(later on Saint Vartan) who was the comander of the Armenian troops, but the Persians couldn't impose their faith nor their culture on the Armenians.

""We lost the battle, but the moral victory was ours"".
Although the Battle of Vartananatz was a military defeat for the Armenians, it has gone down in Armenian history as the greatest spiritual and moral victory, and is celebrated by all Armenians everywhere with pride and respect as a personification of the freedom of thought, faith, and conscience! It is the most important national and religious Holy Day.

I will not be surprised if you don't understand the essence of the above mentioned story, since you people lack something called "Morality".

I thought Anonymouse pretty much covered the achievements of Turks in this thread.

The ones that do show promise, such as Orhan Pamuk, are jailed.

Seljuks are the "muslim" branch of Turks, however Turkic history goes back to the Huns and the Hyung-nu. FOR YOUR PITIFUL INFO All this talk about "ancestors" is really not very helpful, because Armenians of anatolia and Turks of Anatolia have been mixed for centuries.

I AM PERSONALLY VERY VERY SAD THAT WE LACK THE ARMENIAN CULTURE IN TURKEY NOW, because think about it, we lost, through deportation or massacre, whatever you call it, a very big percentage of our most gifted people...Turkey would be very very better today if we still had our greek and assyrian and armenian people also...IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER THAN TODAY FOR EVERYONE, that is for sure.

                      True.

A question (to ask yourself) and a coment (for you to think about):

So who is to blame for this and why?

                      and

If history occured in a manner where somehow the Armenians and other Christian minorities of Anatolia were not killed and driven away (either by some sudden change of heart on the part of the Grinch or through some [miracalous] outside intervention of some sort) there would be no Turkey as we know it today.
