Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

I agree, instead of us learning history, culture and current events of the Armenians of the world we are reading very negative and insulting posts from Turks who have very limited knowledge of events of the past or present.

The latest one is seventeen years old and brain washed. Today Turkey is not a Democratic Republic, is a Fascist State.

You are only making hooey,Turkey was a democratic Republic when you were a small child, when you were a baby, when you not borned and today too! Turk Nation is demokratic when Ottoman Age! We allowed Armenians,Greeks to their begining Ottoman vezier in palace! Maybe I know limited knowledge about your country but also you know nothing about us in past or present too! You had been in trouble in Byzantium age, when we come from Middle Asia so your lifes turned to get affluence and ease in Turkish Empires! That including Ottoman Empire age too! but Russians incited Armenian Nation to Turkish Nation in 1800s! Russians caused! Armenians began to rebel in east regions! So our stable-friendly Turk-Armenian relatives got stopped
          Observe that 1800s

                  Re: Greek Genocide

Why are people so hateful to Turks, who seem to be so nice people?

They are not responsible for what people did a century ago, imagine if all J-ews hated Germans for Holocaust, if all Algerians hated French people for the genocide France committed, if all Irish people hated English people for the colonisation and mass slaughter of their forfathers, etc

One needs to remember Turks are not more responsible than today Brits, French, Spaniards, Portugese, and Russians, are responsible for the colonisation and the genocide of dozens of nations on the 5 continents in the past centuries.

                      Hello

Actualy, Sarkozy says "the crimes", not "the genocide", France does not recognise the Algerian genocide it committed, esspecially in the 19th century after it attempted to exterminate the whole population of Algeria (3 millions of inhabitants at the time of the war with France) to replace it by a population of European stock, making more than one third of this nation disappear in a few decades. Not to mention the genocide of Setif, 45.000 deaths in a few weeks in 1945, the 1.5 million of deaths of the Algerian Revolution in 1954/62, and the 2 millions of Algerians who were forced to live in terrible and mortal concentration camps during this period, and all the other persecutions until the ultimate victory of Algerian resistants against the French army. French politicians are hypocrites and want Turkey to recognise what France refuses to aknowledge about its past, Algerian War was never recognised as a war by the way, a French law changed its statut in 1999 and officially recognised it was not "Algerian events", but "Algerian war", so much negationism and hypocrisy. By the way, did the U.K or Belgium aknowledge the genocides they committed in Africa, Americas, and Australia, to enter E.U? Turkey has to do so with Armenia, according to France, or it won't be able to seek for membership.

Well, now about Armenians they don't seem to have an imperialistic past, however, many Greeks tend to forget the reason the Greek homeland was invaded by Muslims is the Greek Byzantines have occupied Arab and Turkish lands for centuries, after the Islamic armies kicked Byzantine Greeks out of the Arab World (they even occupied Morocco and the rest of North-Western Africa!), they constantly attacked again to reconquer those lands who didn't belong to them, they occupied Northern Syria and called the Crusaders to help them, a terrible campain of genocide against Muslim Arabs and Anatolians then started for several centuries, until the Arabs defeated the Crusader States and expelled the invaders. Then, Turks expelled all of the greek Byzantines out of Anatolia and then invaded Europe, it was in the 14'th century, a very Ancient period. Of course Greeks have suffered during the Ottoman period, and noone denies it, but they did the same to Middle-Easterners when they were more powerful.. Greeks have invaded the whole North-Africa, and much of the Middle-East until present-day Afghanistan, as early as the Antic period...

Everyone should remember there are good and bad people in every nation, and about Turkey it is a country I admire, because its people are proud and brave, they have been independent for centuries and were able to defend themselves from a coalition of Western armies who attempted to destroy them after WWI, which I find it to be great.
