  • HELP ! I need a translator-Western Armenian to English

Folks, I have been fortunate enough to track down written version of my Aunt's account of her Days at MUSA DAGH or MUSA LER.

It is written in Western Armenian, as she was born, raised and taught school in Betias, prior to 1915.

The document is approximately 20 pages long. And if Microsoft Word is accurate approximately 6400 words.

I do not speak or read Armenian, and this is all I will ever have from my family, it would mean so very much to be able to read what she wrote.

If you can help, please contact me, Thank you Lisa

Pep, she can't read armeninan, so how she'll use a dictionary?, all she can do is to look for a neighbour or relative to need help, or to send photocopies to an armenian newspaper or journal, if she's not concerned with copyright stuff of course, then they will translate that for her, btw, what is your location Rosesangel ? may be we can help finding you someone to translate

Unless agreed otherwise, the copyright of a translated document will always remain with its original author (or his/her heirs), and not with the translator.

It will be interesting if you post the document so that we'll read it too since from your message I understood you are searching for someone to translate so that you'll be able to understand (this means there isn't any future plans with the document that you have).

and in that case, if someone is interested to translate it... It can be done part by part.

oh pepsi, now I get what you mean, at home we used to have a very old bible -though it's funny to read- published in constantinopolis at the end of 19th century which is in turkish but with armenian letters, so you read as if you were reading an armenian text with armenian letters, but the words are in turkish, probably your'e refering to something like that
