Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Turkish Court Bans Sale Of Armenian Brandy

TURKISH COURT BANS SALE OF ARMENIAN BRANDY
ANKARA, APRIL 29, ARMENPRESS: An intellectual property court in Ankara, Turkey, has turned down a petition by the Yerevan Brandy Company against the Turkish Patent Institute that had banned the import of Armenian brandy to the country.
According to Turkish press, the court based its decision on the fact that bottles of Armenian brandy carry labels depicting Mount Ararat. They quoted the judge as saying that the picture of the mountain "could create wrong opinion among Turkish consumers as if Mountain Ararat is in Armenia."
Another cited reason was a same-name film by Canadian Armenian film director Atom Yegoyan, which is about the 1915 genocide.
Turkish media said Turkish Patent Institute is well aware that Armenians have claims to Mount Ararat and surrounding areas.

Okay, seriously that has got to be the lamest excuse ever! Does mountain Ararat have "Republic of Turkey" written on it? It's part of the nature and it's beautiful. Everyone can use its picture, besides there is a great view of the mountain from Armenia. It's something symbolic, I think. Besides, how stupid do you have to be to believe Mount. Ararat is Armenian only because its picture was on a brandy bottle!!!

Turkey wants to ruin Armenia's economy, that's why they did the blockade. These are all excuses.

      Say No To Turkish Products

SAY NO TO TURKISH PRODUCTS OF INFERIOR QUALITY

      Panorama.am
      15:32 15/03/06

One of the sad phenomena of our times is the fact that Armenian
"merchants" import Turkish goods to Armenia securing circulation
of more than 10s millions. One of the essential conditions is that
while buying any product of Turkish origin (sweets, chewing-gums,
washing powders, etc.) one cannot be sure it won't harm his/her health.

On the other hand: "After the examination of 103 samples of 45
Turkish products it was found out that they correspond to standards
of technical safety, that is to say they are not dangerous to human
life," announced the deputy of the head of Quality Inspectorate George
Gyozalyan. As a result of the examination it was found out that the
above mentioned standard is the only one that the examined goods
corresponded to. Chocolate bars "Safari", "Derby", "Nuss", chewing
gums "Golfresh" , "Pencil-Gum" and "Bubble Gum", biscuits "Twin",
"Look", "Gold", washing means "Bingo", "Tara" did not correspond to
      the fixed standards.

As G. Gyozalyan assured the realization of the above mentioned goods
has been prohibited and the importing companies have been ordered to
take the goods back from the consumers.

To remind, "Defence of Consumers' Rights" Public Organization has
worked out a corresponding order and it is being discussed at the
      moment.

To note, the fine has been fixed not for the importers but for the
sellers. As G. Gyozalyan stated this is not a raid against Turkish
goods, yet the greatest number of complaints refers Turkish products.

To note, this year the Government has let 80 million drams to put
      goods under control.
"All truth passes through three stages:
      First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident."

      Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860)

Dear Armenian communities, you were never a nation or had been a country in the past history, do you ever wonder why? there is 1 other race like you and that is the kurds and look how the emperialist forces are trying so hard to give them land too. It is called the victimization of the ego, get over it and continue with your real lives. Will America admit it is slaughtering Iraqis, will UK admit it has colognized half of the world so whats your problem. But history will give the Armenians the best lesson and they will disappear forever.

Dear Turkish Fascist community, you are a nation that has subjugated, destroyed, murdered, and raped many other nations. The cultural insitutions in the Middle East were at one time more advanced than Europe before your arrival from Central Asia but you dragged your co-relgionists back to the dark ages. You claim to be the victims of imperialists yet the Ottoman empire itself was an imperialist and colonized and brutalized the Balkans and the Middle East. It should also be remembered that those same Europeans you criticize helped keep you decrepit empire going and equiped its armies. It's funny how you should mention the both the UK and US in thhis context where neither side prohibits discussion and critism of their history, current acts, and current regimes.

In Turkish we have saying "Sazan gibi atlamak", Sazan is a kind of fish lives in freshwater, I think it is kind of catfish or something, anyways it comes to fishhook easily.

So trolls are lucky if there are Sazans in the river.
