The reconstruction of Armnenian Holy Church located in Axtamar Island in the territory of modern Tukey is being carried out by using prohibited substances as tolite,black oil(mazut) and concrete.As to “Arminfo” correspondent in August 14 the members of non-governmental organization studying Armenian architecture reported,the reconstruction goes on in full swing.Axtamar island was the residence of Armenian Kings,meanwile the architects say that the posters directly don’t say a word about its Armenian origin.
The workers assured Armenian tourists that the cleric of Armenian Apostolic Church of Constantinnopolis eparchy and two Armenian workers participate in the reconstruction process.However,the members of the organization failed to meet any Armenian person.
“Actually,the recunstruction of the church is carried out either without Armenia’s party or the UNESCO independent experts,by whom the reconstruction was initiated”,-say the architects.
The architects also added that acts of vandalism against objects of Armenian historic and culture values have been continuing.
The members of the organization mentioned particularly in the 60-70es of the past century Armenian monuments were being ruined by the initiative of Turkish government,now the same things are done by local Curds.
