What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

    Zaman, Turkey
    March 11 2006

    By Foreign News Desk, Istanbul
    Published: Saturday, March 11, 2006
    zaman.com

The Council of Europe decided to give financial support to the
Italian movie "The farm of the skylarks" which is about the so-called
    Armenian genocide.

The Council of Europe foundation Eurimages decided to allocate
600,000 euros to Italian Antony and Paolo Taviani Brothers' new film
titled "The farm of the skylarks," which was adapted from Armenian
originated Antoni Aslan's novel after its last meeting in Strasbourg.

Euroimages', to which Turkey contributes a million euros yearly, drew
reaction from Ankara. Turkish Representative to Eurimages, Ihsan
Kabil, told Zaman that the movie insults the Turkish army and calls
    an army officer a "donkey."

The meeting in Strasbourg was reported to host many discussions about
this issue. All members, except Turkey, approved the financial aid
for the film, which had previously been approved by a 23-member jury
    early this week.

Kabil said Ankara could not prevent the decision despite its
diplomatic efforts. He further noted Eurimages's French Chairman
Jacques Toubon was quite influential in the decision. "Touban
delivered a 15 minute speech during the meeting and explicitly
supported the so-called Armenian Genocide. He said Turkey committed
the genocide, acting as if he was talking about a historical fact
rather than an unproven claim." Kabil and Ahmet Boyacioglu, Turkey's
representatives in Eurimages, gave speeches to criticize Toubon's
speech and the film. Toubon, also a European Parliament (EP) Deputy,
is known to be a supporter of the so-called Armenian Genocide.

Kabil also remarked about the scenario of the movie and said one of
the Turkish army officers in the film was called a "donkey," the
movie was not sufficient in artistic value. "There are many
cartoon-like scenes in the film which insult Turks and all of the
Turkish soldiers in the movie were portrayed as cruel people."
"All truth passes through three stages:
    First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident."

Taviani Brothers Agreed to Mitigate Script of Film on Armenian Genocide

    18.03.2006 01:54 GMT+04:00
/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Turkey has protested against Taviani brothers, world-wide known Italian film directors, going to shoot a film called Lark Farm, dedicated to the Armenian Genocide. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) sent complaints to the Italian MFA. Turkish Premier Erdogan drew the attention of his Italian counterpart Silvio Berlusconi to the matter. The latter promised to do his best «not to harm Turkish-Italian relations.» After calls of the Turkish MFA, Taviani brothers agreed to mitigate the film script a bit. They reported they will change the script and will accentuate not the Armenian Genocide, but a love story. Turkey highlights it, as Euromirage sponsors the film. The sum makes 600 thousand euros. Turkey annually pays the organization 1 million euros. Thus Turks conclude that an anti-Turkish film is shot at the expense of funds from Turkey, the Marmara Istanbul newspaper reports.

(Yeah righttttt ...Turks will be in for a big suprise on this one)

Dear Armenian communities, you were never a nation or had been a country in the past history, do you ever wonder why? there is 1 other race like you and that is the kurds and look how the emperialist forces are trying so hard to give them land too. It is called the victimization of the ego, get over it and continue with your real lives. Will America admit it is slaughtering Iraqis, will UK admit it has colognized half of the world so whats your problem. But history will give the Armenians the best lesson and they will disappear forever.

Dear Turkish Fascist community, you are a nation that has subjugated, destroyed, murdered, and raped many other nations. The cultural insitutions in the Middle East were at one time more advanced than Europe before your arrival from Central Asia but you dragged your co-relgionists back to the dark ages. You claim to be the victims of imperialists yet the Ottoman empire itself was an imperialist and colonized and brutalized the Balkans and the Middle East. It should also be remembered that those same Europeans you criticize helped keep your decrepit empire going and equiped its armies. It's funny how you should mention the both the UK and US in this context where neither side prohibits discussion and critism of their history, current acts, and current regimes.

PRESS RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW FILM "VOICES" BY APO TOROSYAN TO PREMIERE IN HIS NATIVE CITY,
            ISTANBUL, TURKEY

Artist and filmmaker Apo Torosyan, a second-generation survivor of the
Armenian Genocide, has recently completed a new 40-minute documentary
“Voices” (2007).* In “Voices”, Apo interviewed three survivors of the
Armenian Genocide (the oldest 107 years) and one survivor of the Greek
Genocide.* These mass murders of innocent civilians between 1915 and
1923 in Turkey claimed the lives of 1.5 million Armenian and 1 million
Greek and Assyrian citizens.* The Turkish government still has not
officially recognized these crimes against humanity.

In April 2007, “Voices” will be premiered at IHD, the Human Rights
Organization, in Istanbul, Turkey.* Istanbul is the native city of Apo
Torosyan, who now resides in the United States and cannot return to his
homeland since he has made several documentaries and began speaking in
            public about the Armenian Genocide.

On January 26, 2007, Apo had a joint radio interview with Ragip
Zarakolu, the Turkish publisher, on Radio Greece in New York City,
about his films and the situation of Armenians in Turkey, especially
the fear of death.* Ragip Zarakolu has long faced legal harassment for
publishing books on controversial subjects in Turkey, especially
minority and human rights.* In 2005, Peter Balakian shared the Raphael
Lemkin Prize for his book The Burning Tigris with Zarakolu.

In February 2007, “The Gates”* was shown at Fresno University, Fresno,
CA. This 30-minute film is a visual and metaphorical exploration of
conceptual artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s installation in Central
            Park, New York.

SYMPOSIUM AND SHOWING OF "DISCOVERING MY FATHER'S VILLAGE" AT

symposium and show his film "Discovering My Father's Village- Edincik"
at Fordham University, Lincoln Center Campus, New York City.*
“Discovering My Father’s Village- Edincik” is a 30-minute "poetic
documentary" Apo filmed in 2003 after interviewing villagers and the
last remaining survivor of the Armenian Genocide in his family.* The
Symposium is titled Democracy and Denial: Continued Challenge for Human
Rights in Turkey- Remembering Hrant Dink, Assassinated by a Turkish
Extremist, at Fordham University, 113 W 60th St., (Off* 9th Avenue,

SS Zagora, your turkish ship is about to flounder.
Your usefulness to the "Great Powers" is drawing to a close.
The Ottomans propped up by the British and French to keep the Russian Bear at bay, your republic supported as a continuation of this "Great Game" to keep the Germans from British India and the oil, since 1945 used to threaten the soft underbelly of the USSR.
                  All gone now.
You've upset Dubya by refusing him airfields to bomb Iraq and even threaten to invade the only semi-stable area in that sorry land in your insane pursuit of the Kurds... The moves afoot to turn turkey from a secular to an Islamic state are sure to bring you back into the bosom of Uncle Sam and Western Europe.
turkey has sat astride Europe and Asia and has tried to be all things to all men as and when beneficial to turkey. No more.
