  • LA Times editorial coverage history of the Armenian Genocide

A week after the ACTION Alert posted on The Largest Minority Blog, calling for fair coverage of the Armenian Genocide, the LA Times has recently posted a new article on their LA Opinion Blog. Their newest blog, entitled "What did we say about the Armenian genocide as it was happening?" examines the LA Times' editorial response to the Armenian Genocide at the fall of the Ottoman Empire.

Again, thanks to all participants from ArmenianGenocide.com for waking up the Times and calling them out on their unacceptable decision to publish the Op-Ed article “Armenia Haunts the Turks Again.” This really goes to show that grassroots participation is still an effective way of grabbing the attention of corporate media to curtail Turkish Denial. Moreover, its another qualifying perspective documenting Ottoman atrocities perpetrated on the Armenian population.

Most of these editorials are quite vague and poorly written. Additionaly the LA Times claims these are editorials from when the genocide was happening...however the earliest is from 1917!!!! ...and the rest 1918 and after...and just how had America "protected [Armenians] from atrocities at the hands of the Turks." Did America go to war with the Turks because they were massacring Armenians? etc I didn't think so...idiots

"At least half of the Armenian people have been slaughtered in cold blood and the remnant is only preserved now because a large part of Armenia has falled under Russian control and the other Armenians have taken refuge there."

Doesn't seem to be vague or poorly written....
