  • What are you doing this Year?

    I just wanted to know who is doing what in his/her region. Its April again, and as always, Armenians should be having events for the cause of Recognizing the Armenian Genocide.

    Please post what is happening in your area this year ... even if you're not an Armenian but are aware of an event scheduled for this April regarding the Armenian Genocide, please post too ...

    For the UK...

    I am sure Steph has got the same

    Armenian Genocide Day, the 24th April.

    Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide

    1) Leafleting at the gates of parliament (9.00 a.m. till noon)

    2) Remembrance at St Mary's-under-Croft Church, the House of Lords at 11.00 am
    (until 11.20 am -- to attend this you must confirm by 13th April)

    3) Wreath-laying at the Monument to the Innocents outside Westminster Abbey
    (with Darfuri representatives) - (12.00 noon till 12.15 pm)

    4) Major Presentation of evidence for the Armenian Genocide in the Grand Committee Room,
    The House of Commons
    at 4.00 pm, till 5.30 pm
    Chaired by Lord Avebury
    & sponsored by John Bercow M.P.
    Followed by: Appeal to all MPs to support Early Day Motion 357 on the Genocide and the Formation of a Future Delegation to meet the Rt. Hon Geoff Hoon


    5) At 5.45 pm: Proceed together from the House of Commons to a Laying of a wreath at the Cenotaph,
    at 6.00 pm

    24 of April is my husband's birthday : (it already shows he is not an Armenian) lol and the day of his exam for his MBA..
    2 years ago we spent his birthday in 4 hours genocide march in London (to get to London it took us additional 2 hours).On the way back home we obviously were very tired and hungry and my husband stopped in front of Turkish kebab!
    The look he got he remembers until now

      On Sunday 22nd April there will be a service at Holy Trinity Armenian Church in Manchester, UK. to remember the victims of the Genocide.

        On 22nd in Manchester, Yelena and the other children will sing Dartsac Yerevan im Erubuni.

            Ah...don't torture me even more now
            U have got the pics with a broken car where we r waiting for AA on our way to meet you ...
            As I said hubby has an exam on 24, so he will be intensively studying as he leaves everything on the last couple of days...although he has already taken days off "as if" to study

            So I do hope as Alina said before you will visit us
