Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

I saw it. Had a picture of Ataturk with text on the right. Some of the highlights were "What happened to my grandfather? We spilled blood for this land. We lived in peace for many years. Our next target is the Greeks."

            Swedish hackers target Turkish forum

            Published: 16th October 2007 13:21 CET
            Online: http://www.thelocal.se/8805/

Swedish hackers have retaliated against their Turkish counterparts following an attack earlier this month on some 5,000 Swedish websites.

On Saturday, a group of disgruntled hackers posted a comment to the Flashback web forum linking to a stolen database containing thousands of user names and passwords from Turkish forum Ayyildiz.

"We have chosen to leak these user details in response to the many recent attacks on Swedish web hosts and websites following the publication of a satirical drawing by Lars Vilks portraying the Muslim prophet Muhammad as a roundabout dog."

The group said that Ayyildiz was a forum used by Turkish hackers to brag about their destructive exploits on the internet.

Having stolen the identities of the Turkish users, Swedish hackers proceeded to post messages on their forum informing them of the successful security breach.

Ayyildiz was temporarily taken out of service as a result of the attack.

The Swedes also broke into the e-mail and MSN accounts of Turkish web users and sent messages using the stolen identities. Among the images in circulation was a pornographic illustration of Muhammad and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the modern Turkish state.

"This type of 'hacktivism' has been on the increase over the last five or six years," IT security expert Joakim von Braun told The Local.

He added that the outbreak of a hacking war could prove devastating for businesses and government institutions,

"Companies in particular stand to lose a lot of money if their websites are attacked and taken down by hackers," said von Braun.

              "Digital Denial": Computer Hacking

Ok, the news of Turks and Azeri's (primarily) hacking Genocide sites in a sad attempt to hold on to a sliding denial has gotten too spread out. I'm going to combine all the current threads into this one and expect that future posts related to this topic go in this thread. Thank you.

                    Assyrian International News Agency
Swedish Based Assyrian News Site Hacked By Turks
                    Posted GMT 3-19-2008 12:37:23
(AINA) -- The website of the Eastern Star News Agency (ESNA), based in Sweden, was hacked by Turks, according to a press release by ESNA. The hack appears to be in retaliation for the publication of an article by Rosie Malek-Yonan titled Genocide: Turkey's Dark 'Secret' Resonating The Airwaves, which discusses the Turkish Genocide of Assyrians, Armenians and Greeks in World War One.

Last January the website for The Crimson Field, a historical novel by Rosie Malek-Yonan about the Turkish genocide of Assyrians in World War One, in which 750,000 Assyrians (75%) were killed, was hacked by a Turk, who left a message saying "Turk Defacer."

Assyrian websites have been the target of Turkish hackers. The Assyrian Academic Society website was hacked on October 30, 2007 (AINA 10-30-2007); the "International Campaign to Support the Christians of Iraq" website was hacked last November (AINA 11-20-2007).

                    • Turks want to revise wikipedia with their pan-turkish, fascist bile. Does this mean we can now revise their pages with the truth about Genocide of Armenians, Assyrians, Greeks? Can we also present the truth about the OE, Ataturk, pan-turkism, etc?

Asimed Urges Wikipedia To Remove "semi-protection" Over Article On Armenian Allegations

                      Published: 3/30/2008

ERZURUM - The Turkish Association for Fight Against Unfounded Genocide Allegations (ASIMED) launched an e-mail campaign against Wikipedia urging it to remove the "Semi-Protection" lock over the article on Armenian allegations concerning the incidents of 1915.

Chairman of Asimed, Assistant Professor Savas Egilmez, said the best thing about Wikipedia was its feature allowing users to edit (make corrections, deletions and additions) in articles published on the website.

"When you browse the English version of Wikipedia which publishes its content in various languages, one notices an issue in complete contrast with the Wikipedia principles. In the english website while the article on Armenian allegations concerning the incidents of 1915 contain all the thesis of the Armenian diaspora, the Turkish thesis are excluded," said Egilmez.

"The web site allows users to make editions in all subjects, but it does not allow edition of the article on Armenian allegations. The site only provides the theses of the Armenian diaspora. This is a great injustice against the Turkish Nation."

Egilmez said they started an e-mail campaign to stop this injustice and asked Turkish nationals to support it by sending e-mails to the web site's administrators ([email protected]) .

Wikipedia has a "Protection policy" allowing administrators to protect a page to restrict editing or moving of that page, and remove such protection.

"Editing or moving of a page can be restricted by administrators. As Wikipedia is built around the principle that anyone can edit it, this should only be done in certain situations," says the policy.

Under the policy there are four types of protection.

                      -Full protection,

                      -Semi-protection ,

                      -Creation protection,

                      -Move protection.

Though the policy says "Semi-protection in particular, should not be used to settle content disputes" currently there is a "Semi-protection" lock over the article on Armenian theses concerning the incidents of 1915.
