The Genocide Education Project is a nonprofit organization that assists educators in teaching about human rights and genocide, particularly the Armenian Genocide, by developing and distributing instructional materials, providing access to teaching resources and organizing educational workshops.
Workshops for Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Teachers
The Genocide Education Project, in close coordination with the LAUSD, is organizing and conducting full-day teacher-training workshops for LAUSD teachers. The Genocide Education Project will be working with teachers regarding genocide and human rights education (with a specific focus on the Armenian Genocide). All LAUSD secondary level world history teachers will eventual attends a training session and will receive extensive materials on the subject to take back to their classrooms. The first sets of workshops were conducted during the 2005-2006 academic year and will continue until the remaining teachers have completed the training program.
