Al final del siglo XV, dos ańos antes del descubrimiento del Nuevo Mundo por Cristóbal Colón, es necesario referirnos al Arzobispo Armenio Martiros Erzenga, quien vivió una gran aventura. Habiendo viajado por Europa, el daría una descripción detallada de Santiago de Compostela. Como sacerdote, se embarcó con la tripulación en un barco que dejaba puerto en el País Vasco para "buscar el océano universal". El Arzobispo Armenio se embarcó en un viaje de 68 días en el Océano Atlántico. A su regreso, una fuerte lluvia azotaba, pero aun así el barco regreso seguro a Espańa. Así que para agradecer a Dios, comienza una peregrinación a Santa María de Guadalupe. Finalmente, Martiros Erzenga se encontraría con la Reina Isabela de Castilla, la cual les recibiría junto con su tripulación en 1494 en el Palacio Real de Sevilla.

The Armenian communauty of Spain is composed like this :

- some French Armenians who have been there for work
- some rich Armenians from Arab Middle East in Marbela since first Gulf War
- and the remaining (more than 95%) come recently from Armenia since the fall of Soviet Union.

It is easy to make contacts with their associations from Paris. I do not speak spanish but with my broken Armenian it is enough to understand each others.
