  • HM government again asked re Recognition

I hope someone has more time than me to delve into this. Yesterday, 16th June 2011, Baroness Flather formally asked the British Government what was their timetable for Recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
It was an oral question at 11 am.
Guys, I can't afford the time to research into this, I quickly went onto Hansard which keeps all the records but drew a blank as regards the response, if there is one yet. The question was on BBC Parliament channel (amnesia strikes).
    Thanks people.

    Probably you know there exists

    British-Armenian All-Party Parliamentary Group

I contacted them. The person on the phone was very helpful.
Some background facts to help future research.

If department is asked a question it is obliged to answer ( as expected)

It takes 5 working days for answers to appear in the Hansard.

A preferable site exists which is
Making it easy to keep an eye on the UK’s parliaments. Discover who represents you, how they’ve voted and what they’ve said in debates.

Its a (better) Database of every question asked by MPs and Lords and answers received.
I guess here also there is a time lag (5 days?).

Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

Lord Howell of Guildford: ...very responsible and careful about any moves or acts of recognition
or acceptance that would upset a delicate but very important process.

I know that it is a natural impulse to feel, as the noble Baroness, Lady Flather, indicated,
that we want to express our outrage at what occurred, but the best way forward is between these two countries.

You would'nt expect any better reply from those moron who would sell their soul for a donner kebab.
      Yuk ...
