This type of “words of wisdom” may be meaningful when the answer to a question is a matter of debate or a matter of opinion.
It may apply to results obtained from a process or from an experiment.
Theories are another example, say opinions about a Galaxy 500 million light years away.

Historical facts specially not yet 100 years old, events still in the memory of parents or grandparents.
Official archives available and definition of Genocide clearly defined.

The guilty party in desperation, resorting to desperate actions.
Censoring debate within its own country, threating any and every country weaker or stronger to stop recognition.

Despite that nearly 20 countries recognise the events as Genocide.

It is absolutely idiotic to refer Voltaire’s remark, absolutely out of context.

You might as well argue green is blue, red is white, using a saying by this “famous” individual to cover an idiocy.

ANYONE who thinks his or her point of view is absolute is not a teacher. I think by definition he or she becomes a preacher. So if your teachers have tended to be the ones that would not consider reasonable arguments backed up by researched facts that went against their beliefs, then I maintain you have not had the right teacher. In other words, any teacher that would choose to silence dissenting views to his or her own, even from the students, is not a very good teacher.

Now I am sure you'll say what is to prevent the students from coming up with any random answer to any question and then blurting out Voltair's quote ... in that case the answer is rather simple. If you can demonstrate your answer is valid, backed up by verified facts and logical reasoning, then you should be entitled to present that answer. If you can't do it, then we usually have a perfectly good grading system to reflect your performance as a student

When you are taught something in school, Colleges Universities ( presumably during history lessons) and sit an exam what is the student supposed to answer.
"I am waiting to get used to the answer?"
Naturally he would get "penalised" for the wrong answer.

Londontsi thinks those who mistakenly give wrong answers in public exams should be prosecuted under the law. However, if they just work out the wrong answer in their heads, not on paper, and they don't tell anyone, then that's alright.

We are taught a lot of things in school - but that doesn`t mean that every pupil or every student believe in this. Nor should they be punished for it! And yes, I believe that those who denies the Holocaust or the Genocide against the Armenians, Assyrians and the Greeks are rotten eggs - but putting them in jail or paying a fine is just as stupid to punish those who speak openly and recognize the Armenian Genocide or any other Genocide or Holocaust for that matter.

Socialists in French Senate demand to pass bill on Armenian Genocide

PARIS. – Head of Socialist group at French Senate François Rebsamen turned to the government to register bill penalizing the Armenian Genocide as soon as possible, Les Nouvelles d’Armenie reports.

To be ratified the bill, which passed by the French National Assembly on December 22, should be registered in the Senate and discussed before late February.

The author of the bill Valerie Boyer has been under the Turkish threats since the bill adoption. Threats come from the Grey Wolves nationalistic movement, French BFMTV reports.

The MP Boyer complained on the same channel regarding the treats towards her and her family.

“This action can only reassure us in our persuasions and decisiveness,” she told, Radio Liberty reports.

You just want to bully people into silence by having a law that commands them to remain silent. That then spares you (the ignornamus) from the difficulty of actually learning about the subject and then teaching others about it. That is the real reason why you refused to answer my question about which version of the Armenian Genocide you want set into orthodoxy and then protected by this stupid French law, and what versions you want to make illegal for discussion. You do not actually know enough about the AG to know what is true and what isn't (and neither, of course, do those French politicians).
