Tim Burton has Johnny Depp, Fellini had Mastroianni, and Scorsese has DeNiro. The duo that brought us Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas and Casino are at it again with Paramount's "I Heard You Paint Houses." The really, really good news is that this is Scorsese's and DeNiro's bread and butter-- a gangster flick.
"I Heard You Paint Houses", which is mob slang for contract killings, will be adapted by Steve Zaillian (Schindler's List, American Gangster). It's about the mob assassin who many believe was involved in the death of Teamster boss Jimmy Hoffa. Naturally, DeNiro will play Frank "the Irishman" Sheeran, who is said to have carried out more than 25 mob murders.
